In a moment of madness and impulsiveness I have just bought a 2010 Triumph Bonneville, today. I pick it up next Wednesday

Its a very clean bike with only 4500 miles on the clock and I got it from Newcastle Triumph. Matt the salesman was very patient with me as I probably asked a lot of stupid question :)

This is my first bike in over 20 years so excited and bit nervous

It has one of two extras already fitted like crash bars (Hope I don’t need them), upgraded exhausts (Louder), knee pads on the tank, rev counter, back rack and polished cases.

I am lucky as a pal of mine runs a company called TEC who supply parts for the Bonny so hoping for lots of discount 

Hi and welcome to the forum, congratulations on the Bonneville. That's one hell of an impulse buy!

    Welcome to the forum

The Bonnie is the perfect bike to come back to riding with. I'm sure you will have loads of fun riding it.

    Cheers

Hi and welcome from another Bonnie rider, a great choice if bike.

As the bike has new exhausts it should have been remapped, suggest you check with the dealer.

Since you have been away for such a long time I suggest you consider some one to one training, check out what is available locally, but it would need to be someone more qualified than your average Learner organisation. Speak to a Police motorcyclist to see if they offer a short training session. When you feel more confident check out the IAM and go their advanced training route

    Be safe out there

Hi and welcome to the forum,
As SteveJ said, the Bonnie is the perfect bike to come back to riding. I bought a T100 as my first bike 2 days after passing my test this year and I love it.
More maneuverable than they look, loads of torque and a smooth power delivery with no surprises - take it easy and enjoy it.
TEC stuff is nice and cheap anyway so you should do well!
    Cheers

Steve, as a matter of interest, in the future after you have more safe miles under you is the Bonnie going to stay, go or be supplemented by a garage mate?

My guess would be the latter, a Bonnie is for life

    Correct guess!
The Bonnie will be staying for good - maybe with a few mods, but will at some point have to park more considerately in the garage to allow room for a mate!

I've just changed from a GSXR1000 to a Bonneville. They're a brilliant bike that turn the heads of everyone except the local traffic police ..... unlike my Suzuki did. Enjoy it.
