Ttp Puretech 6 Pot Caliper For An America

    Hi,

    Overall I'm fairly pleased with my America (ground clearance aside !) but it was a bit of a shock when I switched from a Honda CBF1000 with twin front discs to an America with only 1 front disc and 25kg heavier.
    Thinking of fitting the above mentioned caliper but given its £336 then I'd like to be sure it will actgually deliver a significant improvent to the front braking performance. Also thought about disc replacement ... EBC is about £125 and TTP about £200.
    Have any group members fitted this caliper with original discs or with a replacement disc and do they consider the outlay good value with respect improvement in front braking ?
    Appreciate any feedback.

    Funnily enough, I have a three pot calliper on my Thrux from a cbf1000 which is a direct replacement, maybe they fit the America??
    These are the ones that fit
    CBF1000F 07 on
    CBF600 08 on
    CB600F Hornet 07 on
    TransAlp 07 on
    DN-01
    Of course it’ll only be the left hand ones

    Left hand ones are about as rare as rocking horse poo on ebay - think everyone knows this modification now. (Lots of very cheap RH ones though!
    You need to avoid the ABS versions of this caliper though as only the top and bottom pistons are connected to the front brake line.

    I fitted the PreTech (TTP) one with original disc, feedback and stopping power is superb!...... In gold anodised looks good too!
