oh man... such delight! Had friends round overnight, so made a bloody gt fry up for breakfast... including tattie-rosties (instead of bread) as one of the guests is gluten intolerant. Being who I am, I did too much bacon and too many rosties... so for tea, I made butties for the family whilst fat-f@#k here got a couple of rosties, mayonnaise on one, HP sauce on the other with a load of bacon in between... absolutely piggin’ georgeous!!! Nay pics sorry, to busy scoffing!

Could be the start of an interesting thread for fat b'stards this.
One of my all time favourite butties is buttered white bread, spread on the jam and then layer with slices of banana. Nice and simple but tasty. I reckon they would be nice coated in batter and deep fried but i've nay tried it meself yet.(the last bit said in a Scottish accent).

So it’s a bread based filling holder... gotcha! It looked like a battered spam fritter on my phone screen! :joy:

Mustn’t forget the sweet sarnie... I used to take peanut butter and sultana butties if I was out walking the fells!

Not sure about the banana though, bit fussy about them... they have three uses...
    1) a firm yellow banana! should be eaten raw from the skin...
    2) an overripe, blackening banana! Should be chucked into a blender with milk and ice cream for the perfect milkshake

Listen to this, for a pound of flour, add 8 oz of butter and then 4 oz of lard 1oz sugar 1oz yeast , hot oven for 20 mins. Thats almost 1 to 1 fat to flour!

I keep meaning to have a go.
Only the last time I went to the doctor I mentioned them and got a row for eating them,so it put me off a bit.
My butty recipe still stands just two a year max is all.

Yeah two a year with the bacon, I still have the odd buttery hot with butter and syrup.
I used to see all these American films with PB and J sarnies, eventually I tried one, and they are good.

Same here growing up in Aberdeen they were a staple breakfast diet! Still like them but only on the rare occasion.
