    Hi All,

Just wanted a bit of advice from some fellow tall riders. I really want a Thruxton EFi, but I also am waiting on a knee replacement, so i'm wondering how cramped, if at all, a Thruxton is. I'm 6'3 with a 32" inseam if it helps.

    Many thanks

I’m a 5’10 shorty and it’s fine with me but I believe there are peg lowering kits or you can purchase rear sets from squaredeals or tecbikeparts, and possibly others

I am six foot with the same inside leg as you. I was riding a Firestorm and started to have trouble with leg cramps from the rear sets. Have had the Thruxton for 11 months now, initially with the lower bars (I have the fairing kit fitted) and now with standard bars. Find it very comfy, though 300km in a day is my longest ride - I generally tend to do shortish local rides in deference to my advanced years.

My only complaint would be that the fuel tank is too high and too narrow. As a long time sports bike rider who is used to gripping the tank with my knees the Thruxton feels a bit unnatural but there again it probably also causes me to moderate my riding to level that is more age appropriate!

Well I got the Thruxton and have been getting used to the riding position but it did seem alien at first, especially as my last bikes have been a Sportster with forward controls and a Tmax where again my feet were out front and a NC750X where my fit were in a traditional sitting position. With the Thruxton, tucking my feet up and behind me did feel real odd at first, but I don't give it a second thought now.

However, my palms and top of my arms ache by the time my ride ends. I'm in stop/start traffic in central London so I guess the repeated braking is taking its toll? Anyone else new to this type of riding position and had the same problem? Did you get used to it? I'm hoping i'll get used to it and strengthen up the appropriate muscles so it doesn't ache so much. I'm just wondering really and it's certainly not enough of a problem to make me sell it, that' for sure!

    40-50 you’ll recover

I'm 6ft1" with a 34 inseam. I find it pretty comfortable to be honest, but haven't done really long distances.
