Vintage Tiger Tiger 885i Race Can Modification?

Hi, I have just bought a 2001 885i Tiger and want to release the Tiger growl!! Has anyone modified the original rear silencer to any degree of success? Or is it best to get a proper race can and then is a re map reqd? I have been on e bay and can't find anything for the 885i, found one for the 955i which looks very similiar? I am in Yorkshire so obviously cost plays a major part!!:smile:

 

Update on home made Race Can.

I got impatient so i ripped my silencer in bits!
I have tried to attach some pics so if it has worked, Pic 1 shows the three allen bolts holding the end plate on snapped!! to be dealt with later!!
Pic 2 shows end plate weld ground off. Pic 3 shows that the silencer is full of baffle plates and tubes that have started to rot away! Pic 4 shows everything that came out!! It's a lot lighter now! Pic 5 shows the 1.75" perforated tube which allows the gasses to pop straight out:smile: The last one shows the tube and proper fibreglass exhaust matting that expands when heated to pack and absorb all the nasty high pitched noise leaving the deep Triumph rumble (i hope!!) All stuff bought off e bay for £15.00 so a cheap job.:wink:
