New Bonneville Problem

    Had my T120 back to get clocks changed (misting) and also the centrestand pedal appeared to be bent as it was touching the ground slightly ahead of the left had stand leg so they oredere in a new one as well
    On picking up the bike it transpires its not the stand itself but the right hand mounting has snapped or detached itself from the frame so that the stand skews when the bike goes on it
    Safe to ride but not to use centrestand
    Result is I am getting a new frame under warranty so a complete rebuild for C******'s sake
    Major one to say the least still love the bike and hope this is a freak problem

    Wow John that’s not good. Hope you can get it all sorted properly. I barely use my center stand, it always sits on the side stand only. I suppose I’ll use it when I adjust the chain, but the bike only has 800kms on it so not had to adjust it yet.

    Glad your getting it sorted John.

    Question: At present are the engine and frame numbers matching.
    If they are will you end up with a non matching numbers bike.

    Hi Nicki I’m the same rarely use it but for cleaning. That said I’m getting a paddock stand bobbin kit from TEC as I can use these having fitted the upswept Remus cans, easier for cleaning and working on too.
    As far as frame numbers go the new stand will apparently have the same as the original and this is why there’s a bit of a delay before Triumph Newcastle get it.

    That’s a very unusual incident with the stand. Hope the bike goes back together in the right order with no cable snagging!!

    That seems a bit odd to me. It seems like Triumph would just swap out the whole bike instead of opting for such a labor intensive fix, all on them! who knows? Anyway, good for you bro.

    Wife’s car has just had a new engine under warranty at 20k miles - seems a bit of the cat ‘fell off’ and got sent back into the engine.
    Anyway got me thinking - asked the dealer ‘what about the log book - numbers will be wrong’
    He didn’t know so had to check - yes - needs a new log book!
    Don’t have the bike’s V5 in front of me but worth checking or could cause problem when it comes to selling.

    Bikes gone 2 year old now I’m going to let them go ahead only as we have good knowledge of the experienced spanner lads as my son worked with them and rated the senior guys

    We will be over it with a fine tooth comb
