Hi guys, names bobby, 29 and live near salsibury Wiltshire.
Just passed my test on Friday and I pick up the keys to my yellow 650 daytona on Wednesday!!!!!

To earn my living and for my sins I'm a soldier in her majesty's wonderful forces, I'm a mechanic by trade and can fix anything from a generator to a battle tank lol. Been around the world and done 2 previous tour of Afghanistan.

Thought I'd would join here for to pick your guys brains on everything triumph (with it being british it was a natural choice lol)

Looking forward to dealing with you all and don't be afraid to say hello :)

I've attached some pics, hope they work :)

    Hey Bobby and welcome aboard

Nice looking Daytona you have there :upyeah:

Most probably the best middle weight sports bike I have ridden on the road.

Your one looks really tidy how many miles has it done?

    Cheers

    Steve

Hi Steve, she has 16,000 miles one her, pretty good for a 2005 I think.
Whoever had it before me has taken real good care of it, can't wait to actually get out onto the road, Wednesday can't come quick enough lol.
A few of my mates own the 675s and say they wouldn't go back to a jap 600

    Cheers

Thanks for the compliment guys, really appreciate it.
I love my job and couldn't think of ever doing something else.

Yeah the bike is a beauty, the guy was originally trying to sell me a new r6 but I seen this sitting there and it was just meant to be lol.
I'll be taking it easy on her and gain some experience first, my wife sits her test this Friday, we got her a 2007 suzuki bandit 650 so she will be out with me most of the time so I'll be taking it real easy, just hope she passes :)

Best of luck to Bobby's Mrs then
My wife also has her bike licence, but not had a bike of her own for a few years now.
Currently got my Bandit 1200 up for sale so we can get her another bike. She wants a Jap classic, so gawd knows what we will end up with !

Personally a big fan of the vfr 400, I just don't think any other bike of its time looks anything like it.
Don't get a gixer, every man and his dog does that lol
Good luck in the sale mate, you will have to let me know what you end up with :)

    Hi Bobby,

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on passing your test - only passed mine at the beginning of May. That's a great looking bike, good colour and I like the nose art!
Take it easy and enjoy it - I have a Bonnie, which is a much slower ride than the Daytona but still a lot quicker than a 125! Gaining experience everyday - just keep riding and then riding a bit more - good luck to your wife with her test.
    Cheers
    Steve

Thanks Steve, I love the bonnies and it is deffo one I'll be adding to the garage in the future for when I want to do a euro trip, stunning bikes.
Hope your having fun with the new bike mate, can't wait till I'm on mine, this is going to be the longest couple of days ever lol
I think my mrs should do ok as she used to come out with me on the dirt bikes (even bought her a cr85 big wheel lol) so she knows how to ride, she just has to impress the examiner now (I told her to flutter her eyelashes and she should be fine lol)

Cheers Bobby, they are great bikes, I rember them from the 60's (yes I am that old!) So just had to get one - the bike was my nieces boyfriends, he was selling it the week I had my test booked. Passed test on Friday and picked it up Sunday so I know what those two days feel like!

My mrs did her test just over two years ago for her 40th and passed first time, she now rides a Triumph Street Triple and loves it. Good luck to your other half.

That's great, suck a nice bike the street triple is too, I showed my mrs the street triple R and she wants it so maybe after she gets fed up with the bandit I could convert her lol

The bandit is a much heavier bike, I owned a 600 and 1200 years ago, nice enough bikes. The Street Triple is about 50 Kg lighter than the 650 Bandit, more powerful, handles better and is quite small...... fits my 5' 6" wife perfect with both feet just about flat on the floor.
Trouble is no dealer will let new riders have a test ride so it's difficult to find the perfect first bike. The Street can be a hooligan wheelie machine if you ride it that way but its also docile and smooth in the low revs and very easy to ride. In my opinion the Street is one of the best bikes Triumph make, I love riding it but I'm too big and don't fit very well.
