When I was in Greater Malvern at the Morgan factory, their head of design was a very ingenious man
going by the name of Matthew Humphries.
He parted with Morgan recently and designed a series of very interesting watches that you can check out
    here,
    https://www.mhdwatches.com/
    if you like.
Anyway, yesterday my MHD AGT arrived from across the channel and I just wanted to show it here because I think it is a very fine piece of British watchmaking.
Furthernore, they are limited to 100 pieces and I got no. 62. (Thus the title of this thread)

Hope, you like it as much as I do:

Very nice. Do like a nice understated watch. The fashion for huge great ugly things - don't get it.

If I didn't have children, I should buy myself nice things like that !!!!:expressionless:

"Buy British" Not being picky but doesn't it say Japan on the back of the watch?

The most important thing is that Winglad is, by the sound of it, very pleased with his latest purchase.

That would be exactly my point.

For me, it is a British watch just as all the far eastern build Trumpets are British too.
Today on the global market, you rarely get a genuine ‚British‘, or ‚German‘ or whatever product.
I knew it was a Japanese movement, when I ordered it: they even advertise it on their webpage. BUT it is a British design, made by an English company and like a brandnew Bonneville it radiates British spirit. That is what counts.
Most watches run on Lemania or Valjoux movements nowadays. Even extremely high priced ones.
You start in the price range of 5000,-£ if you want a watchmaker to deliver their own handmade movement.

But this piece ‚only‘ costs 640,-€. And it is a limited edition too. Anyway, what is most important: Lots of watchmakers claim their pieces to be sportscar this, or motorcycle that.
Here, we have a design from a genuine car designer and not vice versa. That is what I enjoy so much about it. He caught the spirit of the car he was referring to: The Alcraft GT.

And as Ron pointed out above: it is a very intricate design with lots of very catching details and this is a very refreshing thing on a watch market that is either ‚retro‘ or wraps a Hummer around your wrist....

lovely looking watch Daniel :) i used to have a thing for watches,in the 80's i treated myself to a Submariner made by a famous Swiss watch maker:rolleyes: it was fine for a while then it just wouldn't keep time so i took it back to the shop and complained..it's due a service was his answer:eek: turns out they need to be serviced every few years,at the time i think it was about £200 to service:dizzy: i didn't bother but kept the watch for a few more years and sold it and actually got £50.00 more than i paid for it. now i have A citizen Eco drive like this ..one of the best watches i've had

    Very elegant!
Jaeger LeCoultre and Santos come to mind...

Talking about Longines: Charles Lindbergh designed a watch-face which you can use to determine the longitude you are on. (You need 2 watches though: one that shows GMT and one that shows local time, which makes the whole thing a little awkward. Well, he found Paris after all ;))

I agree with you: the prices for overhaul are outrageous.

Citizen offers some fine pieces. And if you do not want a mechanical movement, you don’t have to change batteries with one of the eco-drives.
    Very clever!

Nice looking timepiece! I’ve collected a few decent watches over the years, but my go-to is a titanium Seiko that I’ve had for over 15 years. I’ve worn it everywhere from daily work to diving in the Caribbean and the only work it has needed is one battery and some refinishing, which was done free when my jeweler sent it back to the manufacturer. The most precious piece I have though is a Maurice Lacroix that I inherited from my father in law, who was a great man.

I’ve had this Longines about 25 years, it was given to me as a present.

I was also given this Skagen as a present also, about 15 years ago.
