Exuptoy what did you use to plastic weld the fairing lugs?

Just a standard soldering iron and a couple of slivers of old bodywork as the filler media. People reckon you can use tie wraps but that's not good as the stuff is too soft and pliable. Needs to be a similar material ideally.

Got a Remus can for £30 with some strange scars at the bottom of the can so took the opportunity to stubby it. I'm getting good at doing that now. I had to cut the inner sleeve back and reweld the end I'd cut off at it was tapered where it entered the tailpipe. Looks much better than the Scorpion. Gonna get the link pipe sent off this week to get it copied.

Got my re-powdercoated mirror mounts remounted and after replacing the grommets and bolt inserts with new items from Triumph I refitted the headlights.

Refitted my top fairing but not before I cleaned up the original screen with my polishing mop. Not fitted the other mirror as I am in the process of repairing it.

That's looking good and has given me some inspiration for my Sprint! Keep it up!

Not done anything in a week or so, but today I decided to strip the front end to clean the wheel / strip and clean the front brakes.

    IMG_6726.JPG

Wheel off and discs removed then cleaned.

    IMG_6725.JPG

On closer inspection the front disc carriers were chipped and corroding so thought I'd better do something.

Looking a little better for etch primer and satin black, although I don't have much patience for painting and when it's this cold the paint tends to run or bloom!

Sorry fella, I missed this post! It did ride when I got it but until I get the forks and fairing back on it it isn't going anywhere. Shouldn't be long now hopefully.

Got Darren my tame machinist to make me a skeleton exhaust bracket to accommodate my Scorpion stubby which sits 40mm lower and 30mm back (thereabouts with the high level link) than the TORs pipe due to the fact the TORs has its own bracket not a band, so ignoring the missing pipe this looks much better than the other option of a steel strap!

Got my LH fairing fitted today with stainless bolts and countersunk washers instead of refitting the rusty Dzus fasteners, and I wasn't gonna spend upwards of £40 to replace them with new.
Couldn't fit the RH side as I have run out of spire nuts or speed clips or whatever you want to call them.

    IMG_6926.JPG

I also popped out the pistons from the LH caliper and rebuilt it with red rubber grease and new stainless cap heads.

Today I removed the other caliper, polished the pots, rebuilt with red rubber grease and fresh bolts again. All bled up and a good lever there.

Next I repaired the dodgy indicators with a little wiring repair and a new relay,
Then I made a pair of boot guards from the R&G universal easy grip stuff.

Reattached the other fairing today and got it in for its MOT. Aside from an advisory on the clevis pin and non working indicators (relay had popped out!) it passed.
    Ecstatic. It rides very nicely.

Still have to paint the lower fairing repair so left it off until it gets warmer.

Got my link pipes back and tried each can with its own mounting bracket and link pipe.

I have just been up the garage and refitted the Remus and I'll drop in a new map tomorrow with Tune ECU. I think I'll sell the Scorpion can complete with offset mounting bracket and its own link pipe.
If anyone is interested check the marketplace.

Obviously the shorter stubby is a Scorpion not an Arrow.

Got TuneEcu connected this morning, copied my map then loaded 10072 map for the Sagem ECU and a high level pipe. Loads better, no off/on throttle fluffiness and revs without feeling strangled. Bike goes really well especially with the +2 rear sprocket. Managed to light up the rear tyre on cold tarmac more than once.

Decided to make a couple of quick release pins to aid seat removal without having to get the tools out. I'll probably make a few wire retainers to keep the R clips from going south.

Finished painting my lower fairing and fitted it earlier in the week so took it out for a shakedown this morning and ran out of fuel when the low fuel light didn't come on! Ah, well something else to do I suppose.

Now up for sale for £2k in the sales forum. At that I'm around £2-300 up otherwise it'll stay in the garage as it runs nice.
