Clever people, I'm looking to buy a new Street Twin soon.

When I bought my car from Volvo (yes I do drive a Volvo so don't take the piss) a dealer tipped me off that if I join the Caravan Club (I don't own a caravan) Volvo offer a discount, free metallic paint etc, this membership cost me about £50 from memory but saved me almost £5000, they do the same for the RYC.

I see Triumph do a forces discount, are there any Volvo like schemes your aware of Triumph recognise?

Sadly not. We don’t have veterans’ id cards like the US so verification would likely be problematic.

Good point. Last year I was playing in a golf competition in Scotland and we stayed in a hotel that gave discount to servicemen both current and ex all they asked for was my Rank and service number great deal 25% off the bill for the three of us even though I was the only ex Forces person. Maybe service number would be sufficient after all its unique and you never forget it.
    Cheers, Pete.

Yes, but your number and mine is meaningless to a third party from whom you seek to gain a discount. Soldiers would have to haul their red discharge book around - which has no officer equivalent, they get nothing.
You would think a purple MOD90z for departing personnel would be neither expensive nor difficult and could standardise veteran id issues.

Ah come on now times are really hard for the government on the news today hints of disbanding the "Royal Marines" a few months ago it was my old mob the Paras. Where next heaven forbid that they would have take away the huge discount on meals and drinks in the commons!

I'm ex RN, and to see what we laughingly refer to as our "fleet" now, is heartbreaking for me.
There is talk of putting a mark on your drivers licence, if you're an ex-services.
