Went to see these at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester.(about 1970) You should listen to The Stomp and one or two other tracks off the album SSSSHHHHHH. And what do you mean "for 1969" ? The late 60's and early 70's were the best years for British rock music. Ten Years After were Progressive Rock and led by guitarist Alvin Lee who wasn't the best but he wasn't too bad either.

your'e right Andy:) i thought the headbanging was more associated with later heavy metal bands, but just googled it and the term was first used during Led Zeppelin's first US tour in 1969.

done the Edinburgh taxi knowledge as a back up to redundancy in 2000 out the foundry. One Sunday morning got this guy wanting to go to the Airport. After some very pleasant banter he broke into song ....wow.... fkn brilliant....free concert all the way to the airport......didn't charge him and still got a tip:cool:

"What I meant was I sing to myself, No I dont listen to music on the bike to much fun without it."

Know what you mean Sprinter, mine was a bit of fun remark! When i used to sing to myself lol i usually found myself doubling a speed limit!!!! So i stopped lol.

Before mp3`s & i pods/i phones/WiFi headphones etc (whatever the kids today use lol) me & a mate installed a cassette player in the top box of a GT250! You know the one from the late 70`s with the white mushroom ear piece which were crap! This worked a treat, so we "installed lol" the wire from top box under the seat & had just enough wire to place it inside your jacket up to your lug oles in ya lid! New batteries installed & he was away with his fave tunes of the time.

This worked for all of ......10mins! After popping a most impressive wheelie the music stopped. The cassette player had done a summersault in said top box, broke the ear piece wire & trashed itself never to play again!!!!

So we threw it in the bin & went to the pub!!!!!:)

Yes Ken, & while at that pub sinking a pint i had a sinking feeling!

While sat there i was looking at the GT250 & when i got to the front wheel i noticed it was missing the castle nut from the front wheel spindle!!!! I was informed by my mate that ....its always been like that!!!!! yikes!:cold_sweat:

No way! At least in the act of wheelying there was no stress on front hub. We were very irresponsible with our drinking / riding habits when teenagers. Most of us made it, a couple of my mates didn't. It just wasn't socially unacceptable.I wouldn't dream of riding now after a drink, so I guess that's progress
