Hello. My first thread. Going to ride to Germany this year. Not much into touring, but agreed to do it after a few beers. Numpty. My question is. Touring screen. I'm not going to tour again. Defo. My bum does not agree with touring. I want to buy a touring screen. But I ain't gonna pay £200 for one. Just for one tour. I don't do motorways living in rural France, just do the countryside twistys. How about you views on this one.

I’ve read lots of varying reports on them, a lot can depend on your height. I went for a used madstad for mine and again there were a few mixed reports but I have found it great, not the most stylish but I am able to ride up to 75 mph with my visor up.
You should have a look on for sale sections in forums or eBay, buy a used one and you’ll probably be able to flog it for near enough the same price when you’ve finished with it

Hi. Thanks for taking the time out to reply. I am 5ft 10 ins tall. But my body is tall. If that makes sense. Only 30 inside leg. Had all the Tigers and the 800 XRX was a god send for my short legs.

Same as Crispey, Madstad screen on my Tiger.

Let google be your friend and buy second hand, that’s what I did and saved quite a few £££ :)

I can vouch for crispeys screen ('cos he let me ride Tracey).
I have a Tiger XRX with standard screen and don't really mind it - maybe I'm just used to it now.
Toured to Germany, France and Netherlands with no problem.

I found that the MRA spoiler fitted to the original screen works well it got rid of all the buffeting for me

Can I ask what height you are? Just trying to figure out what’s best for me at 5”8?

No it's the triumph adjustable screen which is standard on the Tiger XRX but it's got the MRA spoiler on it I normally ride with the spoiler just a tiny bit above the top lip of the screen but it's easy to adjust when stationary

This is the MRA screen but I prefer the triumph screen with the spoiler

Madstad as you have all the flexibility of height and rake adjustment. I’ve a 20” Adventure screen on my XRX which is excellent for comfort and wind/rain protection. Even tho you’ll only do the one tour it’ll pay dividends if the weather is bad. I did a short 3 day tour late summer and the rain lashed it down the whole time so I was very glad for my Madstad as even just 150 mls a day in pouring rain would not have been fun with the wind and rain battering my head. Only downside with the Madstad is the headlight reflects on the bottom edge of the screen which is no problem during the day but potentially distracting at night. I’m 5’ 11” and possibly could have got away with an 18” screen as the adjustment would be adequate and possibly reduce the headlight reflection issue. Hope useful and get it sorted.

Thanks for all your reply's. Wow what a choice. I like the look of the MRA screen. I had the MRA spoiler on a Tiger 955i. It used to rattle like bloody hell on country lanes and I didn't notice much difference in the buffering. But I never took it off to see the difference

I have the 18” madstad screen I’m just around 5’ 11 and as cliverdee says there is still a bit of light spill on the bottom of the screen but I don’t find it distracting,
