Back riding a triumph again. Had a TT600 for a year, then a 2002 Sprint RS for a few years, and picked up a Black 2014 Speed Triple in December. At 3,200km the original Metzler Racetec tires are nearly shot (back is well and truly flatspotted), so looking at either Metzler Roadtec 01 or Continental Road Attack 3 as replacements. Thought about Pilot Road 4 but saw another local speed triple with the front well and truly cupped after about 5,000km, so skipping that as an option.
Hello and welcome, WhoMe. Please excuse our Dilli'. He likes black bikes. We know this because he tells us (and anyone else who may be listening) ..... often! Please feel free to enjoy the lunacy, senility (in many cases), tomfoolery, giddiness and of course the medication provided by our resident Nursey. Oh, and sometimes we can get a wee bit sensible - on vary rare occasions. Be on the look out for that, it is a very rare and precious moment when it occurs!
Hello WM and welcome to the forum I think you’ll find Uncle Dilli is actually colour blind and I was going to say everything is either black or white,,,,,,,but it’s more complicated than that with Dilli
Welcome in. Good choice of bike. Tyres are a personal choice, and sometimes local availability could be an issue, but I have Roadtec 01’s fitted and love them. I’ve done 3000 miles on them, including a lot of motorway miles and they still look like new. Ride safe.
Welcome on board mate, I had a back Street R looked lovely when polished and shiny, but prefer riding to polishing to got a matt silver Street RS now!
Many thanks, no issues with availability, I plan on buying the tires online, fortnine.ca seems to have good prices and free delivery in Canada. Roadtec seem to have a similar profile to the stock Racetec (but a lot more tread pattern), but I've seen good reviews of the Road Attack as well. Most of my riding is planned to be in the dry, but it is always possible to get caught in a thundershower in early summer and then the Racetec does not have enough tread to grip the road. Not an issue right now as my road is completely covered in snow and ice (it snowed the week after I picked the bike up and the roads are still not clear, every time it looks like they might clear we get another dump of snow or a stupid cold snap ... riding in -27C anyone?)
Welcome too the nuthouse you should fit right in. Your room is just getting the walls padded out and you can move in . Tucker

That is why the bike is parked in the garage until the Mogul field that my side street has become clears of snow and ice.
