I got a jar of artichoke hearts from the Mrs.... and a three weeks back my present to her was the garage bill for £700 to repair her cage.

So I got to choose my own present, and bought a modern recurve bow from eBay. (Almost new, perfect condition, saved £340 from retail; which brought a Gucci Win&Win carbon fibre bow that was too expensive for my budget into the ‘affordable’ bracket!) Smooth to shoot and feels lighter than its actual draw weight to shoot.

Yes I know I ought to have bought bike stuff, but I’m waiting till the MCN show at the Excel.....

 

Hi, from another archer. Shoot recurve competitively, indoor mainly, 553 is my PB at Portsmouth. Got sports funding for my new Hoyt limbs last year and improved my PB by 12!
Just dipped my toe in the dark side, got a pse compound, just for fun, will stick to recurve mainly.

I’m just getting back into it as my son has started doing archery at school and I used to teach it (only GNAS level one instructor, so nothing fancy) back when Pontius was still a Pilate, so I stepped in to help out a bit and got the bug back. Unfortunately a few years back I’d loaned my recurve bow, sight, button, case, string jig, fletching jig, spares, and a decent set of ACEs to a guy who was setting up an archery section at my local shooting club to help him get it all operational. He moved to Scotland and took all my gear with him, which left me a bit miffed. The bow I bought is the win win RCX Black Wolf (modern take on a trad bow, and field archery orientated. I’m drawing 46lbs at 28.5” with it) - for teaching Robert ive bought him an Olympic style recurve (he’s only 9 so 16lbs draw weight will see him through a couple of years) - it’s not an expensive bow but it’s good enough for him to learn with. For a general training bow to get my ‘form’ back I’ve bought a Samick Avante with ILF limb pockets so as he grows out of the 54” youth bow we can get different limbs for that to suit his development.

 

Me too, my daughter wanted to do archery, went along with her to do introduction course and got talked into doing it as well.
Had a bow before end of the course!!! Mybo riser, Hoyt limbs. Only shoot #32 due to shoulder injury from kayaking.
First competition on the 7th since my bike accident back in August, so hoping to do well and get a good ranking score for Scottish Indoor.
Wife also shoots, so it's a family affair.

 

Mybo are underrated - they seem to produce good quality gear at a good price. Like all reputable makes they refuse to sell BAD equipment, and that is to their credit.
