New Indicators - Problem

    Latest update - I was a bit concerned with the 3watt bulbs not being bright enough so i changed them for these 21watt bulbs, much better,

    only problem is now all the other lights dim in time with the indicators blinking.The original bulbs were 10 watts, do you think this is happening because i have gone too far with the wattage ?

    Hi Tel Boy

    You now have several issues ......

    First off I would reduce the bulb size back to 10W or go to LEDs on the indicators as the ones you have fitted are drawing double the power that the originals took.

    This could also be a problem for the charging system as it doesn't have a lot of spare capacity which could leave you with a low battery voltage and starting issues.

    I would also be a little concerned that the original wiring loom was not sized to carry the extra power.

    And the fact that you are already pulling down the voltage in the electrical system as evidenced by the other lights on the system dimming / pulsing whilst the indicators are in operation.

    Thanks for that Nigel, i will get some new 10 watt bulbs and see if that gets it back to normal, cheers !!
