Have to say I’m gutted at this news, I always found the service side of Birmingham exceptional, they helped me out many times fitting aftermarket parts and there was never any query with warranty claims. Good bunch of lads.

    Closes the end of December.

How can a Triumph Dealer in a place that size fail?

Think the owners decided not to renew it’s lease on the premises.

Think it’s been going a few weeks now, 40% off most stuff, probably more now the closure is public. They were selling used fuel tanks for £10

    Go on their Facebook page.

Apparently they are closing due to Triumph do not want them on that site. They were found another site by Triumph but the lease went up from £50000 to 150000. So they have decided to close and concentrate on their 2 Ducati stores in Manchester and Stoke.

Think we’ll see more closures as Triumph push their dealers into investing in their new corporate branding and big flashy showrooms. It’s all about having matching floor tiles, display units, signage and all the clothing and accessories.

Agree with DD. Why not go down to your local dealer, have a test ride and then compare prices on the internet, that’s what we do when we buy a new TV.

Car manufacturers have shops in shopping centres, while the wife is choosing new shoes I could be next door ordering my new bike.

It’s got to be the future

They seem to be going for a boutique style of store - independent of other manufacturers. KTM tried it in North Wales but it failed. Triumph Newcastle seems to be the type of store they are promoting.

probably explains why, when I popped in a couple of weeks ago to potentially buy a Tiger XRX, they showed no interest in serving me and when i eventually got their attention, the guy offered me peanuts for my trade in i.e. £1000 less than the guys in York, who i eventually bought my Tiger from. Never happy to see any business close or anyone lose their job, but certainly lost a definite sale from me.

Old thread but I'm dealing with Stafford Triumph for my new 765r so will post up my experience.

I mentioned in passing ,about the closure to the Stafford manager who said they weren't great (Birmingham) or words to that effect. I found them good in fairness on my trip the other winter. Did an assessment and mapping check for only £35.

I'm happy with Streetbike. I bought my Speed Twin from them a few weeks ago. Both sales and service have been very helpful.
