    Hi Guys

Got something strange going on with new indicators that i have fitted to my speedmaster. I have fitted new smaller type bullet indicators with a smaller bulb (12v 3w) as opposed to the original (12v 10w) bulb. When just the rear indicators are fitted and you apply the indicators you get fast flashing, but then when i wired up the front indicators it still flashes really quickly. So i put the original front one back on with the new rears still in place and everything works as it should (slow flashing). So I thought maybe there was something going on with the new indicator bodies, so i put the wires direct to the new smaller (12v 3w) bulbs and the front and back indicators still flash fast, then i tried it with wiring direct to the front bulb with the original bulb (12v 10w) and both the front and back then flash normally. If anyone has any ideas that would be really great as i don't know where to go from here.
    Thanks
    Terry

    Hi Terry
Had the same thing happen to my BPOS (Speedmaster)
You're gonna need an adjustable relay :p
Got mine from fleabay and then had to reverse the polarity by using bits of wire
Have a good search in the forum mate...I posted pictures of how I did it for someone else in here but can't remember where :(

    Hi Dilligaf
Thanks for your reply bud, i will have a look, in the meantime i have found this - http://www.squaredeals-ltd.co.uk/du...flash-rate-fix--new-spec-cf13-gl02-1961-p.asp

Do you think this could solve it, there is a customers appraisal that sounds like the same problem i have got, what do you think?

    Cheers

    El Tel

Didn't come across these when I was trying to get the flash rate done on my bike but they look like a good solution mate especially if they just plug in and work
The one that I'm using has an adjuster sticking out of it and it wouldn't work without me making some wiring up...was a right headache
If you get one of these and it works let us know and I'll get one....I don't need one as my indicators are working but I'd rather have the relay plugged in where it's supposed to be

Thanks for the reply Dozers Dad, yes they are bulbs, a lot smaller than the normal 10watt ones, so the holders wont take the original bulbs.

I know what you mean, re the brightness, it did cross my mind too. But they do look cool, gonna wait till a bright day and see what they look like from a distance, if not i may change them to leds. Luckily they were super cheep (£15 for the four) so won't break the bank. Thanks for your concern Dozers Dad !!

I don’t see which bike you have. If it’s a newer one ‘16 + then Triumph anticipated folks switching to different indicators like I did that are leds. No need for resistors. If you have to “I” button on the left side, hold it down, turn on ignition but don’t start it, then toggle the I button till it shows Type 1. Toggle to Type “2”. That will slow down flashing rate to normal. The I button you’ll see does other things including fault codes etc. hope this helps.
Oops, I see it’s a Speedy. Don’t know if you have the I button ,oh well.

It won't have the I button, that came in with the water-cooled engine bikes in 2016.

There are four difference flash rates, just pick one that you like and which also conforms to UK MOT regs. ie between 60 and 120 flashes per minute
