I have been a member of the forum for a while now, with Mr Bumble my yellow Bonneville. Having now sold the bike I am the owner of a Thruxton (carbs) and yes it's yellow. It is in need of some TLC so I will be posting lots of questions in the various threads. La Roca
Hello Dave and welcome back to the fold Hope Mr Bumble went to a good home and enjoy your new ride, thank god it’s not another blue bike In case its not been mentioned previously, pics please
Hi guys and many thanks for the welcome back. Have yet to take any pics of Thruxie, but will try to get some done shortly. The two main issues are the engine covers lacquer, this needs to be stripped off and the covers polished. The silencers seemed to have rusted from the inside out and will need to be replaced, also lots of other little tweaks I need to do to get to the way I like my bikes to look. will keep you posted and I promise photos will follow. LR
Lots of things on the list, will get done over the winter as time and funds allow. Centre stand just fitted makes it much safer to work on. Silencers next due to rust, engine covers need some attention, mirrors will be replaced with bar end type. Suspension also on list +++. But will start off with giving the garage a good hoover - well spotted Ade LR
i did see YouTube videos of captain rumbuctions talking about issues with the thruxton casings, also clocks misting new bike but think he had to argue case to get these issues sorted, still a lovely looking bike though especially the r version.
Hi Rudeboy I have no idea why they are there. How long will it be until some one on here comes up with the answer ??????
Its a heat bar apparantley what does it do dissipate the heat from the cylinder fins I wonder never seen it on any 865 engines just curious really they do look cool
Hi Dave, Nice bike. You obviously like yellow ones, so do I, I would like to own one some day. I also like custard and banana ice cream, not together though. As a kid I also used to love banana milk shakes. Just wondered if you had the same kind of "thing" for yellowy type of stuff ?
Hi PC Yes it is a 900. The silencers are now sorted, but may be looking for engine covers if these don't polish up. There may other items needed as work continues. LR
