Got a little further on today, not as far on as I want ed cos I had an issue with the chain.
When you fix the new link and rivet it in to place it all seems so simple on the web.
I put everything together, when I came to rivet the new link I could not get the rivet to spread and now I am in the situation where I dont know if its on or not.
The link is the same thickness as the rest an when I torqued up the joiner I must have laid on up to 60Nm, come the end.None of this has stopped the chain moving, only I can see no measureable difference in the spread of the dammed rivet.
Any thoughts or advice most welcome, cheers.

Did it not look thinner before you started?
If it looks the same as the others then chances are you've done it right :)
Try to take it back out but not with much force if that makes sense
There's not a lot of force put on the links sideways if you know what I mean so if the link stays put when you try to remove it I would say it's done and will stay put on the bike :)
Get the wheel alignment right and you should be ok:p

Cheers DILLIGAF I know what you mean. Im working now for next week so I might order a new link and then see if I can remove the old one if not then fine.
Problem is, If it comes off then my riveter is crap.

A ride to Hinckley for the visitor centre and a factory tour.
Visitor centre interesting. Factory tour ok but I think it was the guide's first day on the job as he was just reading from a script. Were shown various production lines (crankshafts, engine cases, camshaft etc.) but as everything happens automatically inside enclosed CNC machinery there's not much to see. Actual assembly line a bit more interesting and got mildly excited as we turned up in time to see a guy ride a newly built bike onto the rolling road, but as he plugged it into the data logger, the doors automatically closed, so nothing to see there either.
On the up side, it was a nice sunny autumnal day for a ride.

Well, got my new battery and have it fully charged now, but not going to use the bike for a week so not going to bother fitting it til I’m ready to use it.

Just managed to repair my bike with half a paperclip! Bloody side stand switch jammed stopping me putting the bike in gear, not great. Managed to trace the wiring back and bypass the switch with said paperclip. Now back at work and rather chuffed with my bodge.

Very true, amount of dirt and road salt about she'll never be clean this time of year, particularly as I ride 5-6 days a week.

I've done nothing with my Triumph(s) today.
    Nada. Bugger all.
It's been the same for a full week now and I am starting to get withdrawal symptoms.
Something I must rectify this weekend. :)

Been putting the miles on the new Street Cup, even though temps have hovered around 40f here. The more time I spend on this machine the more I like it! I need to fiddle with getting a pic or two up here.
