Engine Mounting Bolts

    Hi I am trying to remove an engine bolt on a 2013 gt sprint not to sure of how to remove it and the size of hex nut required to fit help if poss please

    As above and I don't mean to sound rude but if you are having to ask how to remove a bolt should you be performing such tasks. Just sayin!
    You may want to remove your post code from your side bar, clicking on it reveals your address in maps and thieves "cruise" forums anonymously for such things. Hello, BTW, get the bolt sorted.

    wanted to fit r&g crash ptotecters that's the reason and its why I wanted the torx size of the bolts.

    I wanted to fit r&g crash protecters but because they are torx I wanted to know the torx size so I can get one its seems a lot more to it than the company makes out

    I believe its the second biggest 45 you need to remove both, one at a time.
    These need torqued when replaced. Do you have the settings and a torque wrench?

    Hi thanks for that info the rg fitting instructions say not to exceed 40nm torque on the wrench.

    the torx is size 45. My bungs where toqued to 50 nm as per instructions only mine where a different make

    Hi thanks for the info did you have problems removing the bolts and fitting the bungs

    Very straight forward, piece of p .remove one at a time ,dont even have to remove the fairing, ( I did, to be safe). Its a two man job cos you have to reach through the frame to hold the other side of the bolt using extensions, drop of thread lock (blue) wouldnt go a miss. And check again after a long run.
