Hi all, I have taken the slip on exhaust from my tiger 800 xc to put an after market box on, the female tabs of the main exhaust have rusted away, does anyone know if you can buy the pipe with them on, no part numbers for it on any books or diagrams I can see, or does it have to be full manifold as that's not cheap.

If your talking about the tabs that the heat shield go on and the bigger one just further towards the back it looks like they are welded on so part of exhaust, maybe you could file these off and get new ones made up then welded on?

Yip they are the ones. That’s my next option, going to ask around a few places.

    Cheers

Sorry, my mistake, its the bits the back silencer slips into then the clamp goes on to make a seal.

Do you mean the bit at the end of the pipe with the slots in that compresses as you tighten the collar around it ( part 13)?

Yes that's the one, looking in my local area to see if I can find a welder. I have new collar and gasket on order. (12,13) but not enough left of the lugs to clamp to.

Good luck! The only way I could see it working would be to get a piece of pipe of the right diameter with slightly narrower piece of pipe welded inside, leaving enough room for the end can to slip in, and protuding enough to slip into the main pipe, a kind of sleeve, and weld it there, then cut some grooves in Where the end can slips in.

I have my fingers crossed. Cannot find an after market system so hope the welding option works. New system £560 + VAT

Most exhaust places have short link pipes you could buy and cut to length ( take the part you need it to fit to ) and they would probably weld it up for you for a few quid !
