Big handful of front! Was locked and sliding for all of 10m before impact. Guess it took enough speed off, as injuries are fairly minor compared to what could have been.

Oh I completely agree, but when faced with a f*****g great truck, you just squeeze everything including the you know what. A complete lottery with regards to avoiding street furniture, trees, fence posts etc. Then if you are lucky to survive you recollect in slooowww motion what you could/ should have done differently. Another one of life's experiences, be it good or bad.

    GWS Mr.O!:)
Glad it wasn't any worse and I am extremely jealous of the industrial quantities of morphine that you are enjoying. Took me three days to come down from the morphine induced high that I had when I suffered severe chest pains a few years ago. Made the worry and discomfort all worthwhile. Marvellous!!!!:yum

Sorry to hear that Ron, hope you are feeling well as your post suggests (all things considered).

Good planning to wait to nearly the end of the holiday to get the skive excuse sorted.

And thoughtful of you to abandon bike so you could take the worst of the impact.

    Get well soon!
