Currently sat in D&G Royal Infirmary off my face on morphine.
Had a wee coming together with the truck yesterday. Single track back lane, come round a corner doing 30ish, to find road full of cement truck.
Both of us locked up, but I failed to stop in time and collided with front off side of the cab. Bike stopped quicker than me, I continued forwards and bounced off the truck and flew through the air, through foliage and down a banking, coming to rest facing back the way I was coming.
Busted my ribs, nerve trapped and numb hand and knee bashed, but all things considered not too badly broken. Can't believe all limbs intact and not even a scuff on my new helmet. But the old chest took a good pounding. Doctors and nurses can't believe I didn't break collarbone/ankle/etc....
Front of the bike bent, but rest looks OK, my mate has fetch the bike back to mine, this morning.
Looks like a second night in hospital, at least. But could / should have been a lot worse, guess I bounce well for a big lad.

    Damn, Mr O!
Sorry to hear about this, glad you didn't come off worse considering the circumstances.

Enjoy the nurses and the meds...
I hope you are able to get the bike roadworthy again by the time you are ready to ride again

I don't suppose you had a camera running, it all sounds rather dramatic and terrifying!

Sounds like it could of been a lot worse (30mph....yeah right :p)
Bouncing eh? After the initial impact?.....you see....packing a bit of timber has its benefits :)
Milk it mate...tell them it hurts more than it does (more meds) and of course you can't possibly wash yourself properly without the assistance of your favourite nurse :p

Never nice to hear of a biker down.

Take all the Meds offered, and more if you need them.

    Heal well. :)

Oh Ron - So sorry to hear this. I'm glad you're OK. It does sound like it could've been much much worse. Take it easy and get well soon and hope you and the bike are up and about soon.

Sorry to hear the news. Front brake will always be first, nearer the brain? I'm sure you guys will educate me with regards to Mr O's physiology. No seriously, all the best in your recovery.I'm sure I speak for everyone, let us know if there a anything we can do to help to alleviate the pain ( legal requests only)
