After getting a puncture and being stranded on the M4, I felt very exposed on the hard shoulder without hazard warning lights. You-tube shows how to wire up a separate flasher unit via a switch into the front indicators. I was doubtful, but sure enough all four light up as well as the dash warning light, if ignition is on. As I fitted a 21w relay with buzzer, I am now happy I can also acknowledge people who flash me! (The kinder ones!)
Relay was £4.95 and switch was £ 2.79 on ebay

Also added a buzzer to my indicators today. Simply connect the buzzers live feed wire, red to terminal B(battery) on flasher relay and the black wire goes on the L(load) terminal, not too loud to annoy, but enough to remind you to cancel if you forget, especially at low revs!

Audible indicators are a must in my opinion, they could save your life so well worth it. There are some on ebay that are brilliant, they bleep loudly and you can also add a bright LED which helps when you can not hear the bleeper. Time delay is adjustable as well so you can set the beeper to come on after a short delay. Here is a link

Thanks for reply, I don't normally forget to cancel, but have suddenly started doing it especially when in a strange area when I'm concentrating on the road signs. (riding without satnav) Horrified when I've realised what I've done !
I know you can buy a combined green light with buzzer, but I'm hoping that I will correct my bad habit now, always wanted to add a buzzer, didn't realise how easy it is.

This one on eBay is so easy to fit. I have one on all my bikes and the audible bit is really worth having as sometimes you can not see the warning lights on a bright day.
