    IN CASE OF EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS

    Can I ask that everyone shares a IN CASE OF EMERGENCY contact with someone else before we go on the rideout. I have past expeirence of people falling off their bikes at this type of large gathering, and luckily they have just been minor offs. But if the worst was to happen, I am sure you would like your loved one's to be informed quickly.

    I will be bringing one of my wife's business cards and giving it to someone, it has her number and address on it.. I am happy to take any details and hold them, just write on a bit of card and give them to me, or anyone else you maybe friends with at the GMU.

    This can then be used to contact them, or in worse case scenario, for the police to quickly contact your family.

    This is totally up to you, and I will return / destroy any contact information, I have at the end of the event.

    I have a little sticker on my helmet, that contains these deatails. The only problem is when you have an off at a decent rate of knots - it's like a bombsite !!!! Had 2 riders come off in our group of 5 a few years back, air ambulance job. One of them went 100 metres into a field, others bike went 10 metre's, both had luggage ripped off and scattered. Mate of mine lost a nice camera and a new set of waterproofs, and it was the recovery driver that found his wallet and returned it to the police.

    Finding a wee card or a wallet is no easy task after a big off. On this occasion, he was a pal of mine, but it still took some ringing around to get hold of his wife's phone number to tell him he was in a helicopter flying to Glasgow!

    It's just an idea that people may want to opt in, or not, your choice :cool:

    Erm there's a reason why what was Europe's biggest man made lake and reservoir was built 10 miles up the valley from here....
