The main dealer in S.W.France is "Zone Rouge" located at Merignac near to Bordeaux.
They are closed on Sunday and Monday.

Crowbar, good weight hammer, wooden sweeping brush handle would put you on your way. Use the sweeping brush handle as a foot peg. Cut to length and try to bore a m10 hole in it for the bolt. Bit naughty but It'll be handy if there was a large diy store nearby, buy a brush, test a battery drill and stick a drill bit in from a pack when no one is looking!!

 

Would a rear footrest fit into the front as a temp repair ?

Pain in the bottom being closed on the Monday, but I'm afraid that's the norm.for this type of business.

I'm afraid this doesn't really help but my Tbird LT suffered a diesel related tarmac interface near Lyon, last September. Fortunately, I always print-off the country's Triumph dealers and could see there was one in Sevrey, plus I had rescue insurance. Both Green Flag and Triumph came good. The bike was unrideable as it went down on both sides (!) and wiped out brakes, throttle and footrests. I told my 6 companions to carry on and had the bike delivered to the dealer in Sevrey. They told me they could make it rideable in 6 hours or as good as new in a week (sod the insurers); I went for the 1st option and by early afternoon was away.

They charged me €32!!! I gave another €20 to the mechanic and was with my mates by the end of the day - they were truly amazed.

Back home the bike needed £1600 of repairs.

What was gutted as I leant him a 17" rear wheel (his was 18" so less tyre choice). I lost that. Bugger!.
Still got the 18 if anyone wants one. No. Clever peeps!
