The real thrift is in getting your kids to mop up the oil spill with their clothes then docking their pocket money for sleeping on the job!
I did !!!! Did it over the bit of drive that has just stones down, so wouldn't make a mess, if she spilt the oil, so nice bit of carpet down to protect my old knees, back, elbows........... I use old ice-cream tubs to catch oil, easier to clean and store compared to a 'proper' drain tray. The breeze blocks were because I hadn't had the chance to go and fetch my big jack and axle stands from work!
That was 2 days later, after she (my daughter) had spent the time scraping and wire brushing all the rust off the suspension and brakes. All waxoyl'd and painted now. She's done a cracking job of it. Just told her to paint the calipers like it was her doing her nails !!!! Who needs sons, when your daughter is a total petrolhead
I tried to find about the tyres causing the most accidents, but did not find any at least for the USA. According to the 1981 Hurt Report — the largest study ever conducted on motorcycle accident causation — alcohol is a factor in 50 percent of all bike wrecks. From the Hurt study: In single vehicle accidents, motorcycle rider error was present as the accident precipitating factor in about two-thirds of the cases, with the typical error being a slide out and fall due to over braking or running wide on a curve due to excess speed or under-cornering.
