Hi Viz Recommendations

I already have leg protection with those 2 big jugs one on each side of the bike, and anything that improves roadsafety should be looked at seriously !

 

Its to distinguish them from ordinary members of the public.
When they go out covert on unmarked bikes they mostly do not wear HI VIZ.
I cant believe there are people who would like to introduce even more repressive legislation by making it compulsory.
These people should stay in their cars.
We have enough idiots from outside our ranks trying to impose their safety ideals onto us, without them joining in.
There is no evidence that people who use HI VIZ are less likely to have a crash.
If someone could point me towards an official study that says otherwise, Id love to see it.

 

At least someone on this forum has some sense.

 

Maybe if pedestrians were made to wear hi viz Sam Browne , cars had some form of external audible warning when within a metre of an obstacle and cyclists had airbags sewn into their Lycra roads would be a safer place

 

Just ordered the lot!
Anything that makes me more visible has to be a contributing factor in road safety and I for one think that it's about time the authorities got involved and made hi viz compulsory
Sometimes bikers need protecting from themselves
Wearing all black on a motorcycle is not a good idea
Safety (hi vis) should take priority over misguided notions about biker coolness
I am not a rebel I am not a 1%er I am a motorcyclist and want to be seen and safe!
Get with the safety program and wear sensible hi vis

What's wrong with being seen on a nice safe motorcycle?
Bet you ride faster than necessary with a loud (illegal) exhaust system eh?
Giving the rest of us more mature and safety conscious riders a bad name!!
The audacity of you to suggest that I don't belong anywhere near a bike (presume you mean motorcycle) just sums up what's wrong with you and your attitude to more sensible motorcyclists
Keep wearing all black if you want until they change the law but remember it was meddling politicians that brought in the much needed helmet law!!
Like I said sometimes the sensible people have to show the misguided people the error of their ways

 

You could also read the HURT report. A main conclusion of which was "

1. Conspicuity of the motorcycle is a critical factor in the multiple vehicle accidents, and accident involvement is significantly reduced by the use of motorcycle headlamps (on in daylight) and the wearing of high visibility yellow, orange or bright red jackets."
   

 

i've never worn Hi Viz,but anything that makes us more visable has to be a good thing and i can understand why people wear them. i do have a couple of jackets that have reflective stripes on them but they are only really effective if riding in the dark..i think @andys has been watching this

 

Since returning to biking 18 months ago after 30 years absence, I have found there is such excellent gear on the market that I have bought everything fluorescent that makes me visible from 50 miles away.
I am so impressed with the fit and quality of the stuff that I now wear all my hi-viz when driving my car as well.
Getting in and out of the car can be every bit as hazardous as riding a bike and basically I think hi-viz should be compulsory for all road users.

Too much black for me.
It's either full hi-viz or not.
If legislation is brought in to support road safety there must be no ambiguity.
Mandatory requirement of hi-viz for all road users, the sooner the better.

 

We could possibly look at re-programming convicted cagers by two methods.
1) Make it compulsory that they can only drive fluorescent coloured vehicles to give other road users a fair warning that a blind twat is driving.
2) Electric shock treatment administered by a fully clad biker jumping out from various hiding places to make the cager more aware of his surroundings and to bikers in general.
The re-programming of non convicted but those considered potentially dangerous could receive a lesser current.

 

Still looks like it is in good condition.

 

I reccon this is the biz !!

 

Especially if you find yourself adrift in the North Sea !!!
