Evening everyone, my mates street was stolen this afternoon. Just in the of chance anybody sees this bike please report it asap. It was stolen from New Street car park at Edinburgh Waverley station around lunch time today. Thanks Ali

Sorry to hear about your mates bike Ali. Happening all too often even with car park and street cameras and in broad daylight. No deterrent any more! Sprinters 'Warrior' observation may be truer than we would like to think.
I'm Not sure on the day itself but when we go away he always has a big chain to lock the bikes together Ali

No deterrent, police not really interested. Same old story all over the country. Easier "prey" elsewhere. Speeders for example. Stick a camera van out somewhere and it's 'crime detected, crime solved, crime successfully prosecuted'. Easy money and looks great on the league tables. I digress. Good luck with the return of the bike though, if that's what he wants. I say that as when some scumbags nicked mine ten years ago, I knew instantly I didn't want it back. Really sorry about your mates bike. I guess it's a wishful thinking that these scumbags will get the hard end of the law
I think it's more a case of Karma. My mate's mother in law was gravelly ill in hospital, he got away from work early to say his last goodbyes and some scrote had stolen his bike. The station cctv showed another stolen street with 2 boys on it taking 3 minutes to break the disc lock, the steering lock and ride it away. Just in case anyone is unaware, as I was, if your steering lock isn't on your insurance won't pay out apparently. Ali
