https://www.amazon.co.uk/Diary-call...2750&sr=8-1&keywords=diary+of+an+on+call+girl Read this eye opener a few years ago. the problem is they are so over worked and badly run they just dont have the time or resources. Do you remember, WARRIORS At the start the leader of all the gangs says " We out number the cops 10 to 1 if we unite we can own this town" I always thought that was chilling
Sorry to hear about your mates bike Ali. Happening all too often even with car park and street cameras and in broad daylight. No deterrent any more! Sprinters 'Warrior' observation may be truer than we would like to think.
I'm Not sure on the day itself but when we go away he always has a big chain to lock the bikes together Ali
Sorry to hear about your mates bike but advertising is everything in this sort of case ( ie getting it found and returned ) A posting here might help ...... https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=motorcycle stolen
Update on the security he was using a disc lock as well as the steering lock Thanks Oldyam it's all over Facebook up here 100's of shares Ali

No deterrent, police not really interested. Same old story all over the country. Easier "prey" elsewhere. Speeders for example. Stick a camera van out somewhere and it's 'crime detected, crime solved, crime successfully prosecuted'. Easy money and looks great on the league tables. I digress. Good luck with the return of the bike though, if that's what he wants. I say that as when some scumbags nicked mine ten years ago, I knew instantly I didn't want it back. Loved it too but it was over. Can't really explain it. Atb Bob
Really sorry about your mates bike. I guess it's a wishful thinking that these scumbags will get the hard end of the law
I think it's more a case of Karma. My mate's mother in law was gravelly ill in hospital, he got away from work early to say his last goodbyes and some scrote had stolen his bike. The station cctv showed another stolen street with 2 boys on it taking 3 minutes to break the disc lock, the steering lock and ride it away. Just in case anyone is unaware, as I was, if your steering lock isn't on your insurance won't pay out apparently. Ali
I may be ignorant ( ok stop it now) only, what do they do with the bike It cant all be joy ride and dump can it and I would like to think shipping abroad or selling for parts would be highly policed. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/product-reviews/product-picks/top-four-motorcycle-gps-trackers/ This Oxford tracker looks the business no wiring, battery lasts 10 years and 60 quid a year just hide it anywhere on bike or car and get up dates every 5 mins on position when it moves away from safe zone
Hi Ali, I’m really sorry to hear about your mate’s bike. That’s such a frustrating situation. It might help to spread the word on social media and local community groups, too. People often keep an eye out for stolen items in those places. You might also want to report it to the local police and provide them with as many details as possible, like the bike’s make, model, and any unique features. Sometimes, local pawn shops or second-hand stores can be a good place to check as well. Hopefully, someone spots it soon and you can get it back. Good luck, and I hope it turns up quickly! Tell him to look into hidden GPS trackers in the future
