Spartan is a good lid. Their internal visor works well. Enjoy it. Its a good lid for an upright bike. I'm running Bell M6 Carbon on my R1 now. It's a good lid too but changing the visor is annoying on Bell as you will need to carry the Alan key !!! Whereas with Spartan you just pull it out

I have tinted visor and clear visor scratch free for Spartan. So I might end up getting the same lid when I managed to get back on speed triple; -). With all the other bits I managed to remove off the crash bike, I was lucky with the visors too as they are not cheap.

 

I would be lying if I say I don't miss my Triumph. R1 5PW is a great road bike. She has a manageable power and very good handling. I have dialled in the suspension and she is holding the lines spot on even through mid corner adjustments. She is no match for the new generations 200 BHP bikes doing top ends on straights but in the twisties I very much doubt it she will get left behind. As long as the suspension is sorted, good brakes and tires and a person who knows what he is doing....she is more than capable of running with the newer generation sports bike. Unfortunately she is missing the pilot who knows what he is doing. I am just poodling around on the R1. I bet other riders on the road must think what a muppet

Then it must have been the carb version. My model was the 1st fuel injected one released in 2002

 

Nice. The cab ones are bit of an animal and a little hard to tame . Today the original R1 asking price is (Red & White with red seat) £5k+ .
