Hi folks, proud owner of a new 2013 Thruxton here  Fussy beggar that I am, I've had it sprayed to my own colour scheme already and have gone for the Arrows 2-into-1 exhaust. There *will* be pix, I promise, when it's had it's next phase of work done to it. Right now I'm riding it with no seat hump, a couple of extra-spec bits missing, and a balls-up on the graphics. Hopefully my baby will be ready for her photoshoot by the end of the month. I want to save the snaps until you get the full effect. In the meantime, I wondered if anyone could help with a couple of 'blinging' questions. First off, I've gone naked at the front as I prefer it so. Mind you, I'm not too keen on the black finish of the cups that hold the speedo & tacho clocks. Does anybody know if you can get these in a brushed alloy finish? Second up, the black bracket holding the front headlight in place. I've seen some Thruxtons with this in chromed silver. Again, does anyone know where I can get hold of such brackets? My dealer has hinted that the seat bolts are made of cheese and it's well worth upgrading these to the Norman Hyde extended versions. Does anyone have any other suggestions of 'must-do' improvements like that? All suggestions gratefully received. I can't wait to get my little rocket in a photo-worthy state. Once that's done, it'll be time for an ACF50 shower for the winter! Cheers all, Andrew
Gets a bit cold this time of year.. but no flies to wipe off.... your on the right forum.. Mr.H will be grooming you soon...
It's going back in today for some of the paint job re-done as there was a run under the lacquer... ugh. So it'll be at least another two weeks.
As in: Sorry, sorry, my bad - been for my annual (no edits on that word, please) eye examination whotsit cos I have a thing going on in my right eye and the drops have made my vision a bit blurry...
Well people, I've done it! I sourced the bits I wanted from a TOP bloke in the USA called D9 and even managed to fit everything myself without c*cking it up. The respray took three attempts to get right (really!) and after being off the road for two months (not bad for a three week old bike) we are finally there. Pix of my baby are now on the Thruxton Pics thread... enjoy!
