This (obviously) from a TuneECU reading via bluetooth to an ELM adapter. I've not adjusted them, and wonder if it's worth the hassle of removing the airbox to try and get the settings "perfect."

    Thoughts?

Yes, even if it's only for the learning experience.

Fair point. Seems we think alike. I just find sometimes the mantra "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" should have prevailed. I worry that I'll muck it up and make things worse.

Is it idiot-proof, or am I unlikely to make it any better? Don't get me wrong, I have faith in my own ability - just don't know how fussy the adjustment is, or if it's a case where I'll get them perfectly matched with the air box off only to have them 30 points apart when I put it all back together.

I think the adjusters can be quite sensitive and just leaning on them with a screwdriver can temporarily change the adjustment  that said I think i would try and get the reading closer in your case as you do have 2 cylinders 20 points out, just take your time rev the engine and let her settle between adjustments:)

Job done. I only needed to mess with the setting on cyl1. I found that even turning the adjuster a full revolution didn't seem to make much difference. Much less sensitive than I expected. I had to double-check to make sure I was turning the right screws!

I removed the MAP sensor and temp sensor from the airbox and hooked them back up to their electrical connectors on the bike (as well as the map sensor to its hose). Aside from that I didn't block off or re-position any vacuum hoses. Did I miss a step?

Once buttoned up, all seems well and even, so I'm guessing I got it right :)

Hi muzhic, I don't know if it's true or not (haven't done this job yet on my Tiger) but I read somewhere that cylinder one should used as the basis for comparison and should be adjusted. Cylinder 2 is fiddled with until it matches 1; then 3 is fiddled to match the other two.

However, if they all match now I can't see any probs tbh.

Having a 955i S3 I had to do it the old way with my vacuum gauges as this part of Tune Ecu is only for the 1050 and on. Well worth doing though.

I've seen that thread before (or at least a thread here that linked to it). I was sure to have a good look while I was in there to see if I might encounter the same issue. There was no tubes fouling one another on mine (touch wood)
