H those bar end mirrors off eBay? Think I have the exact same ones but in silver. How`s them working for you, seemed pretty solid when I tinkered with them a bit...

Nope, genuine Triumph ones as I went a bit mad with the credit card when I first got the white Speed in the second picture!

Hm, got me fooled, now that I looked more thoroughly there is a wee bit difference but apparently mine are almost straight copies of those...

Wish I'd bought copies too - after a bit of adjusting they fitted quite well but still wasn't 100% happy - pleased i didn't pay a dealer to supply and fit! I may fit them again when my Speed arrives?

Just getting my bike gear ready for tomorrow for my trip to Taunton on the train to pick up the Daytona.

Maybe I should wear my full bike kit and helmet on the train and do a Stig impersonation.

Just hoping that this storm stays away long enough for me to get home as a new bike and high winds may not mix all that well and I have enough bikes in bits in my shed without adding another one.

Got the America out the mancave, tinkered with the electrics & stripped the carbs to try to find the cause of the misfire. Swore at it a lot. Put it back together again, still misfiring & banging like a shit house door in a storm. Swore at it some more, cried a little, put it back in the mancave, swore at it again, covered it over, swore at it a lot more & locked the mancave up.

See you in the spring you fucking piece of British shit!

On the plus side after spending the morning tinkering with that fucking piece of British shit, it put me in the right frame of mind for smashing out the old fire place & knocking down the kitchen wall. Every cloud & all that....

Removed original speedo assembly, refitted ignition lock how it's supposed to be, removed the butt-ugly chrome headlight. Didn't have time to start fabricating the new headlight but now have a "clean table" to start of when I have the time...

Daytona is in my garage .... Just

Managed to get back without even getting wet the bike is in good condition but needs a proper clean (with the panels off) When I get a chance I will change the foot pegs and bars to make a bit more sports tourer as she is a heavy old beastie but she has got a load of grunt.
Also think the carbs need a bit of a clean out but apart from that all good and even managed to fit all the bikes in the garage :upyeah:

In the middle of a move myself, just cleaned the garage a while ago but is now exploded again as I`m trying to decide what to save and take with me, and what to throw away...

Gave the Daytona a wash down this morning and gave it a good inspection.

The bike is still very good condition for its age but as usual there are few bits to do on it like the paint on the wheels is not bad but could do with powder coating at some stage, all the panels will need to come off and be cleaned up as the previous owner did look after the bike but not as well as I would have liked.
The front discs also look a bit worse for wear and may need replacing, may also need to look at the suspension as it feels a bit soft (compared to the trident that is).
The bike is also very rough when ticking over on idle as well as having a bit of a flat spot when you twist the throttle, I'm guessing that the carbs maybe a bit gunged up and I also might put in new plugs and a fuel filter / Air filter to try and sort this out.
So all in all it's going to be a very busy winter getting the Trident back in one piece, putting the CB 750 back together and the Daytona.

As well as keeping on the good side of the missus

I'll see if I can get a bulk discount on the powder coating for 6 wheels and one bike frame then.

  19. I've been removing mine from the back window of my van! As race season is over and as someone pointed out having a pic of your race bike on the van is an open advert for local tea leafs to come creeping in the dead of night!
