Had a busy few of days.
Renewed by bike insurance with Bikesure, there is a story here in its on right. I then ordered some TEC slip on exhaust and rear suspension of my Strret twin. I then set off to work out what additional tools I would need to fit them. Off onto Amazon for torque wrench, which ariived yesterday along with my new bike bits; yippe!
Now the hard bit for me as I'm not particularly mechanically minded. In fact any work that needs to be done on my bikes and I usually head for my local dealer. Anyway I unpacked all the bits and realised that I needed a set of 3/8th sockets. Off to Halfords and sorted, so I'm now ready for the bike.
I had already watched the video's on the TEC web site, so felt reasonable confident on what needed to be done. Used my bike lift to get the bike up to a workable level. Well what can I say, it took me about 15 minutes to complete the right hand side of the bike (both the exhuast and shocks) and just a little longer on the left. I'm well please with the results. The ride is a lot stiffer which I should be able adjust once I get some miles of use. The exhaust sound absolutely brilliant, a really deep throaty roar.
So any other amatuer mechanics out there take heart, if I can do it anybody can. I'm looking forward to my next little job that I can do without using the dealer. Here are couple of pictures:

And so you should, be warned though, it is very addictive once you start, but very satisfying.
You can save yourself a fortune in workshop bills over the years.
Plenty of good help and advice available on this forum.

Had a ride to FTR Suspension near Braintree for a basic set up. Nice guys, very helpful. The TT was not too far out so it was set for road and they gave me something to try when I get around to track play. Rode back south and popped into Brands for a drink and bite to eat. California Superbike session was on, sure I spotted Chris Walker there. Steady ride home. Cracking!

Hi Mick I know what you mean. After I had finished I sat back thought that was really good fun. I certainly plan to look at doing some evening training if I can find a motorcycling maintenance course near me, so once my bikes are out of warranty I can do my own servicing. I've got a couple of years to get sorted.

IMG_1701.JPG Whilst having the fettling bug, I fitted these today. Great fit, enlarged a couple of holes, but better too small than too large. I think they look smashing.
