When did discs become consumables !!!! My dad had to replace them every year on his Nisan Note, looks like his wee Honda is doing the same, I think I'm going to have to replace them on the jag, again !!! WTF !!!! If you go on ebay, most sellers want to sell set of pads and discs, so must be a common thing now. Ran a Rover 600 for 140 k discs were fine, Puegot 405 SRi 120 k discs were fine, what the hell has happened ? Is it pads have become more abrasive? Discs softer ? Is it cos not allowed asbestos in them ??? Pain in the arse having to pay out every year.

I took in bagged monies 50p totalling 10.00 5p totalling 5.00 etc etc was asked for account details and even though bagged correctly - was told by Berclays that it's not policy to take the funds. Bloomin banks have gone mad
our RBS has a fancy machine for paying in money, i never use it though as 9 times out of 10 it spits out certain notes and by the time it eventually accepts them i'd have been quicker waiting in the queue and paying it it over the counter ours RBS doesn't accept coins..must just be the posher branches near England that do this

Nope, no car. I have expensive Halvarssons waterproof textiles, alpine stars WP gloves and Gore-tex boots. It's only water and being Scottish, used to it . So unless storm warnings, it's going to be bike. Going full length of Scotland, so should be dodging in and out of the wet (hopefully). Central belt looks worst, once past, weather looks to improve. Weather looks OK for Tuesday.

Shops. Walking around shops on a weekend is the biggest waste of life imaginable. Supermarket, garden centre, retail park, town centre, they are all as bad as each other. I can feel the will to live, draining away
In Dumfries the're complaining the town centre is dying! Let it die, we have better things to do than walk around shops. Internet has a far better choice and you don't get screwed just cos you live in a city or out in the countryside. Most of my purchases are from the net, free delivery from Amazon, I get walking boots and tyres a lot cheaper from German websites, more selection rather than just what is in stock. Shopkeepers, get rid of your shops and get a website. Other than food (and even then), don't want to go to shops, total waste of my time. Shopping is NOT a leisure activity, its work and unless I'm getting paid, I don't want to do it !!!
Dare I ask why you went shopping Mr. O, are you in the bad books for some misdemeanour ? I think closing Dumfries town centre may be a tad overkill. I get out of shopping because my missus hates me questioning why she needs stuff, questioning how much? and then bartering for every purchase. Easier for me not to go!
People buying everything off the net i for one would hate to see ghost towns throughout the country with high streets full of Cafes,hairdressers,Beauticians,Charity shops ,i know in my town the majority of the shops sell their goods very competitively (myself included) i always check the net prices and can match or beat them easily and if the shops don't have what you want they will happily order it for you,several have web sites but they could not make a living off it. it's different for the big stores,how many folk when searching for something online search the local shops online? instead they automatically search Amazon,Ebay etc or they just type what they are looking for on google and the majority of searches that come up are all big stores. the only time i buy online is if i can't get it locally.i think all governments missed a trick when buying online became popular they should have introduced a tax for selling online.. after all they have no rent or rates to pay..I'm sure if shops (even the greedy ones) didn't have those expenses they would be able to not only match the net prices but beat them all the time
