Hi I've noticed in a few threads recently references to certain football teams, so I thought it would be useful to establish what sport (other than motorcycling which is of course all of our first passions) and team you follow when your not on your bike. For my sins I have support Newcastle Utd since 1969 through some good and some very bad times. This season has been good, who knows what next season will bring?

    So what is your story?

Yes always the great pretenders...... Who knows with Rafa we might see some better times. Of course that does mean that MA needs to stay in his box and put up some serious money.

I'm a Arsenal fan. And still recall Charlie George's goal in the FA cup back in the seventies. Bad season this year (again)
Still have to beat Chelsea in the FA cup this year.

I guess by the high standards at Arsenal this season is a bad one. To most fans getting to a cup final and finishing in the top six would be a great season. I can only dream about that kind of success for Newcastle :):)

Ah but you used to be a great club. Gazza ,Alan Searer, Malcome MacDonald, (who played for the gunners as well :)) just to name a few.
Not forgetting one of the most craziest men of all time Joey.

Well now the Sunderland position is an interesting one. I don't want to upset any forum members that have the pain to suffer Sunderland going down to the championship, but will just let them reflect on how many of them behaved when Newcastle were relagated (sorry Dilligaf) :grinning::laughing:

Keegan played 1982-84 and managed twice 1992-97 and a brief spell in 2008.

Happy days, you didn't realise just how good at the time.
Some great characters and players back then, me and my mates rarely missed a home game and did quite a few of the away fixtures too.

I have some fond memories of coming down the A1 for away games at Leeds during the 70's.... Been chased from Eland road a few times in the past.

Aye there was some handy lads and a real camaraderie, dozens of away scarf trophies hanging from them. taken from the away fans.
The 'scratching shed' was the place to be and then it all moved to the 'Kop' when that was built.
2/6 old money to go in the Lowfields road boys pen, but the scratching shed was 'buzzing' with excitement
You couldn't wait for the cheerleaders to get up on the barriers, some great chants that I still remember even today.
    Magic!
