Hi everyone, Currently going through riding lessons, just passed my mod 1 and got mod 2 in a few weeks. After much review reading I decided on buying a street triple, been learning on a Ktm duke 690 so not sure how much of a step up it'll be..... anyway bought the bike couple of weeks ago, absolutely love it Just getting a bit sick of polishing it!! Just thought I'd introduce myself and post some pics. Jamie
Yeah I realise it's a lot of bike for my first, especially as I hadn't ridden before my cbt but my instructor insist it's perfect for me. I'm 32 and like to think I'm fairly sensible.
Hi mate and welcome Nice bike mate I crashed my CBR1000 in Whitby bust engine casing and bust shoulder Nice fish and chips though
Hi and welcome to the forum, nice bike. I'm not sure about the sensible bit on this forum; just ride safe my friend Wessa
Welcome in Jamie, very nice bike, they are pretty quick so sensible is definitely the right approach. Safe riding bud !
What sensible bit? That's how rumours start! Wait while Nursey finds out what you said - it'll be extra meds and one notch tighter on the jacket buckles for you if you're not careful!
Welcome Jamie. The Street Triple is a cracking bike mate. My Aunt had a chippy in Norton and got her fish delivered daily from Whitby. Beautiful fresh.
Welcome Jamie, as you will have already seen, this place is not called the Triumph Asylum for no reason !!! The very best of luck for the mod 2 test. When you achieve your license do please take it steady. Bikes are not at all like cars so take some time to get yer skills up and always remember, cars drivers will not see you, so you NEED to see for them.
To paraphrase Casey Stoner ' Don't let your ambition exceed your talent!' Just remember if you can't see a car driver's eyes he probably can't see you behind the door pillar. All the manhole covers and white paint you ignored as a car driver are suddenly going to command your attention.......and on right hand bends the camber is not in your favour.....lots to learn so take your exhilaration steady but welcome.
Good luck with Mod 2 - just take your time and keep it normal. Pretend the examiner is just a satnav voice and ride like plod was on your tail and you will be OK. Do not panic if you go off at the wrong exit at a roundabout (as I did) - you will not fail for that. He just told me to do a U - turn and go back to the roundabout and carry on. (You will fail if you don't look over your shoulder before doing the U - turn though!)
Should be fine for mod 2, only problem is I have absolutely terrible hearing, just a bit worried I'm not gonna be able to understand the examiner! Cheers for the advise though
