hi guys just wondering what mods you would consider important for a 2003 speed triple, i would like to change the end can, but the mirrors are rubbish and dont think the radiators have much protection, ive already changed the levers for shortys. interested to hear your views

Have you thought about bar end mirrors.

I've had my S3 955i a year now which came with a high level TORS can and bar end mirrors, both good additions although I did change the can. It also came with a gear indicator which I like. I've since installed a bellypan and radiator cowls to go with the stainless radiator and oil cooler guards. I've removed the rear mudguard to tidy up the rear and changed all the bulbs on the bike to LED's. I've done a host of other little changes along with over the winter a respray to tidy it all up. Performance wise I've changed throttle tubes to make it more like a quick action one. I have installed 10158PK tune on it which gives it a little more life. A throttle body balance helps to keep things running smoothly. Like all my bikes I've installed a small catch tank with a filter which is connected to the crankcase breather, the airbox is now sealed and I don't have dirty air and oil residue coming from the crankcase. The best mod I did however was to improve the charging ability of the bike when running. With revs it wasn't terrible though not good and at idle it was pitiful. I improved it greatly by running wires direct from the rectifier to the battery so the battery now receives a really good charge even at idle with no lack of performance to any of the electrical ancillaries.

Already fitted when I picked up the bike so not sure on the fitment but I'm guessing that even though it runs off the front wheel it's electrical and not mechanical so would think there are probably some plug and play units out there.
