My TORS fitted to my speedmaster are marked up on the underside not for road use
It looks like a sort of acid etching
Very difficult to see but it's there to see
Especially if you're upside down in a ditch
However I don't care and I'm planning to go louder
    Nothing beats LOUD!!!!!

Hey Nicetown, so how did you get them off in the end? And are the pipes not obnoxiously loud?

I've just checked my replacement Triumph stamped exhausts on my 2014 T100 (came with the bike + have the originals) and it clearly says not for road use , might phone Carol Nash and say I Am thinking of replacing exhausts will it affect my premium (wonder if i should ring anonymously?!!)
Yeh I guess I could swap for the originals after I've been bandaged up (only a small flesh wound!) but It would look like a miracle if poor Bonnie's is scratched and twisted sporting nice new shinny exhausts!!
Any of you guys notified your insurance and what was the outcome?

    Hi Bonnie lad
Personally I tell them nowt and take the risk
Had a few mishaps over the years would always sort things out myself
Been lucky I suppose that there has been no third party involvement
Would rather take a big hit than put a claim in
When I was younger I had a bike stolen and them buggers being cleverer than me wiggled out of paying
    Avoid claiming at all costs
Big hit maybe but cheaper in the long run
If it plays on your mind too much keep the bike standard
    Simple!

I too have the Tec 2-2 tracker and done the torque stage 1, ie remap, filter etc it gives you more BHP 20 % possibly I think it is so I suspect the insurance company would use that as a way of hiking the payment if they felt the urge. Not heard of anyone brave enough to tell them though, posed this question my self last year and the outcome was inconclusive . It would probably only be an issue if you have a accident and it's proved your at fault and they can link it to your performance enhanced bike, ie speed. Not that the increase is that significant on a 865 Bonnie but any excuse not to pay out I guess! Not heard of anyone having problems so keeping my head down

I haven't told my insurers about the TORS on the Bonneville - as far as I'm concerned they were on the bike when I got it and they are genuine Triumph parts.
I did tell the insurers about the Leo Vince exhaust on the Tiger - they asked if it improved performance and I told them no - so it didn't make a difference to the cost but at least it's on record.

exhaust and insurance companies subject could roll on for months, anyway I have the triumph supplied Arrows stamped up with Triumph and not for road use, I told my insurance company it had an aftermarket exhaust supplied by the dealer and it never made any difference to premium.

I queried the not for road used with the dealer, they said nothing to worry about and even unlikely to fail MOT as with baffles in only a little louder than standard. Still got the original in the loft should I need it in future.

I had no other choice than sending the bike to a garage...They had do remove the engine to access the bolts !
The sound is perfect, loud enough, it pops really heavily, I love it !

I've got Dunstall silencers, if that's the right word, on my new-to-me, 865cc Bonneville T100. Told the insurers (bennetts) and they just asked if it passed MoT, and if it was 61bhp or 67bhp. I told them 67bhp, I have a dyno printout to prove it, and they accepted that. So, it's on my record, which is what counts.

The bike came to me like that, the previous owner spent the strong end of £1000 setting it all up. I've got all the original parts, if I want them, though

Bike is loud and raspy, like a real, Meriden Bonneville with Paul Dunstalls so I'm not too worried.

The Feked.com Vickers silencers are a snip. I thought they might be cheap and nasty but was very pleasantly surprised.

If you want to be sure and have peace of mind give your insurer a call. I have recently fitted a remus can to my Tiger Sport, I phoned Carole Nash and they said it was fine, no additional charge and they have a record of it now. Good luck and enjoy the new sound. :grinning:
