I got my Bonneville on Friday, rode it home from the shop and immiediately removed the strangling silencers and replaced them with some free breathing ones, adjusted the handlebars to a more rakish angle, then rode it, rode it some more, and then rode it a bit more. Now 48 hours after getting it I'm thinking it needs wider bars, a much shorter front mudguard, different tail light and indicators, the rubber knee pads have got to go as has the rack and the Oxford heated grips, the front brake master cylinder is annoying me as it looks like an afterthought, and it needs fresh paint-something much darker with a bit of sparkle in it

Had a great day in garage yesterday. Got the barrels and cylinder head on my project T140 Bonnie, looked the dogs things..doesn't really matter if piston hits head after I torqued it down and turned crank by hand does it? Where do yer go when Intensive care will not have you back? Am I havin' fun yet?

Those pumps look as though they are still in use!
Just missing the globe's, they are worth a few quid now, I know some have been converted to work in litres, but rare.

I've always wondered if they do. The garage does repairs and MOT' s but it doesn't have any prices for petrol so I guess they are just for show now.

The saga continues, as I was talkin to the cyclinder head on the 75 Bonnie with a rubber hammer, whilst removing it to resolve pistons etc, bike slipped off stand backwards. As there is no centre stand front dropped...STOP LAFFIN'.. and I was literally left holding the bike whilst thinkin flippin heck. Bike had jammed between frame front and front wheel. As I has removed fork nuts and slackened forks ready for refurb, I gently thought, I need help, so does bike. Steadying it enuff to pop down street and winkle someone to reluctantly help, we got back, got it back on stand and got head off. It was then a pal said "Why is there oil dripping from garage roof and light?" Eh?? I hadn't noticed but as the forks went down springs came upward along with a beautiful fountain of oil about 4ft behind bike. Great shot I thought, followed by visions of wife laffin hysterically. She married a madman. Will I ever grow up, hope not.
