YES. So if I get another cradle to work on, I will either have a spot of alloy welded to it and machine off the lug at the required angle or try simply shaving the standard lug down?? we will see.

Yes, worth a consideration, however in my experience, a blob of soft clear silicone on the out-sticking (half washer) does hold well even with extreme vibration.

 

Could be. If I get another, I will compare them, however if it does turn out that it is slightly bent,then it was bent before this.

It's another possible, but as this is a leading link system, I am not sure it is relative, plus, it did not et twisted while I was swapping pads, so if true was previously twisted.

Yes, that is possible, but will have hapended before we got the bike. IF we end up taking the cradle off the bike, I will remember this at inspect for it.

Yes, I have been flip-flopping between various suggestions that appear at the time to be possible, so for a while I was very pro air-in-system even after bleeding, but as the spacer/washer even though it has to be cheese shaped, appears to give a working resolution, I am very happy with the varied suggestions. I also am happy to belive that the reason for it is some minor damage to the system (bent).

True. Yes the plan is to get hold of another carrier and experiment with that. Yes, just to be on the safe(er) side, I will find a way to hold the thin washer and file it to shape so that it slips over the bolt as normal and therefore cant slip out even if the bolt is VERY loose.

YES, would not be difficult to trial, so may do that next time I get near the bike.
