I remember once pulling up and watching my mates jaws drop. I had just dropped off one of my mates off home who had to work early the next day , so i told the rest of my biker mates i would meet them at our local burger stand after i dropped him off ( he never had a bike as he suffered from fits ) I dropped him off and put my spare lid that he had been using on my elbow . As im coming down this little lane towards the burger bar i see this girl in a mini skirt walking on her own on the side of the road. It was dark by now and it wasnt an ideal place to be walking so i stopped and asked her if she was ok and if she wanted a lift as its a dangerous place to be walking. To my surprise she says yes thanks and jumped on!!! I couldnt beleve it...... She didnt bat an eye lid. I gave her my spare lid and off we went :cool: she never said where too or why she was there so i took her to the burger bar to show off my prize:cool::cool:. Well.....as i pulled in i see about a dozen lads standing with burgers in hand and mouths open with no movement:D:D:D
It turned out she has had a barney with her boyfriend and she made him stop the car and she got out. And the arshole boyfriend drove off. So she started walking . A fine girl she was too:oops: a great night was had by all in the end. I was talk of the burger bar for weeks after. She came with me a few times after ( on the bike i mean;)) before she ended up going off to university and we lost contact. I was just in the right place at the right time . Lucky me :D:D:D:D:D . I can still see the dropped jaws of my mates as i pulled in with a pair of long legs either side of me , it must of looked a site ;):D

I'm just trying to work out which could have been more dangerous, walking down a dark street on her own or getting on the back of a biker she didn't know, not knowing what speed or where she might finish up.
Gutsy chick, and probably a big FU to the boyfriend.
Bet your mates were well impressed, bit like the Fonz pulling up.

Actually i did ask her why she got on, and she said she just wanted to get away from where she was as her boyfriend was a nutter. I said "and you tell me now !!":D:D:D

So I am led to believe, wonder how it would stand up against modern sports bikes now. In its day it was a weapon and certainly hit the adrenaline spot, would scare the crap outta me now!

Nice picture. Typical mid '80's scooter boy style. I was also doing the national scooter rallies at that time (actually, I'm still doing the national rallies)

    Yeah!
Just imagine: my uncle is a barber! Shouldn't he have known better?
I do not fancy the style of the 70ies too much...

Funny thing is: I live in the same house again...
This pic shows exactly the same spot 44 years later...
    IMG_0586.JPG

Oh and the house you see on the pic is not the living quarters, but the washkitchen.
Place was erected in 1927 :)
