Just watched "Aftermath" starring Arnie Swarzenegger (?) - good film and he was very good in it. All about a terrible accident and no-one saying sorry.
Just watched "Terminator Genisys" - for those who like Sci-fi, an excellent film. Brings all the previous story lines together. Definitely worth a watch.
Crikey you been hiding in a cave? I remember going to the cinema to see the original ones. The later ones have all been when they came out on DVD as hearing loss spoils your enjoyment when in a noisy cinema. Just too many people talking , rustling sweet packets and other background noises. Plus you always get the person that's seen it already and in a loud voice tells all and sundry what's happening next.
That I can understand. I must be slightly younger than you as I went with my father to see it. The first one that is. Even remember seeing the Buck Rodgers film that later became a TV series. Along with a few other sci fi films. Pubs didn't come for another couple of years ( apart from those further afield from home for a spot of underage drinking )
Sounds like you need to listen to Marcus Brigstock's Radio 4 show 'I've Never Seen Star Wars'. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00hcr67
Had a bit of a 50's Black and White WWII 'Sunday Afternoon TV' filmathon yesterday - 'Dunkirk', 'The Cruel Sea', and 'Carve Her Name With Pride'. Crackers all. Makes one proud to be British, with all due respect to Winglad. Now re-watching the BBC docudrama 'Dunkirk'.
Lol. But nevertheless still a cracking film with some of the best / most horrific battle sequences on celluloid. Well worth seeing. Knowing the basis of the true life story doesn't spoil the enjoyment.
BBC One I-Player Road Riders Two episodes currently available showing some of the characters of Irish Road Racing. Well worth a watch!
The Hatton Garden job - trying to be a Guy Ritchie film but failing miserably. Great actors really struggling with two dimensional characters. Only saved by the fact we already know the basis of the story.
Passengers. Strange but intriguing film. On a routine journey through space to a new home, a passenger, sleeping in suspended animation, wakes up 90 years too early when there is a freak malfunction. Don't want to hand out any spoilers but really well done and as far as sci fi goes it got my attention and I enjoyed it. Solid 8 out of 10 from me.
Alien Covenant - always liked the Alien films, all had great starts, well this starts badly and continues in that vein. Slapstick gore, cheesy one liners, predictable and ludicrous plot line. Wait until it hits the rental market if you must see it, its cinematography was very lacking too so not worth the big screen price!
Thanks Hogster! That is exactly the impression I had when watching the trailer. So I will save my money. If you are into SciFi: I quite liked Rogue One (better than the last one) and Passengers is not too bad either... But I'd say, may favorite was Interstellar in the last 2 or 3 years. Cheers!
