Hello everyone, my name is Apostolos, i am originally from Greece but i now live in Bristol. Although i don't own a Triumph (yet...) but it is in my future plans (i think), so i would like your advise regarding the Triumph world & the motorcycle world in the UK.
My motorcycle history has a lot of Japan based bikes....from Kawasaki KLE to Yamaha Fazer 600 and my last bike, Suzuki Bandit SA 650. I still have the Bandit, but it is (still) in Greece and i face a big dilemma:
Sell the bike in Greece and with the money i get, i buy a (used) Triumph that i always wanted?
    or
Bring the bike over (and make an awesome trip) and register it as UK bike....???
One of my desires in the Triumph motorcycles is the Tiger, which in Greece was too expensive, and the support from the local dealership was not the best in the world.....
For now i 've put my bandit for sale in Greece and i hope i get the money i ask for...but time will tell
My little Suzuki served me well for two years, we also did a small trip in Turkey last summer with great success. I added some photos so you ll get a small idea of who i am and how i look with my helmet on :D :D :D
I have many questions i would like to ask you all but i plan on asking few at the time so i will not be a pain in the.....
So, welcome me, i am glad to be here!

    P.S.
Apologies for any grammar error, for some reason i still make some silly mistakes when i speak / write socially (the more fluent i am in my technical expertise, the less fluent i become in real life :p :p )

    Welcome to the forum apostolic
Take a look at the Bonnevilles as well, great all round bikes and reasonably priced.
Your written English is very good, way better than my Greek. lol

Greetings, your English is fantastic, a lot better than most post on here
I hope you get the money you hope for your Bandit so you can get the Tiger.
The dealers in England are a good bunch overall, but i can certainly say the guys on here are the best. So much experience and help as you could need so ask away, plus a good deal of banter.

We hope to see you riding a Triumph soon, and posting pictures, we like pictures even if they are drawn in crayon

Hello Apostolos and welcome to the Triumph forum.

As you can see I run a Triumph Tiger as well and love the bike, so if I can help in any way, please just ask, OK?

That reminds me of he Shirley Valentine film when Tom Conte pretends his English is not so good.

Hello everyone! Good morning from the sunny (but misty) Bristol. Thank you for the warm welcome.
It is very nice to see greek-english salutes! :)
We are known to be friendly and good hosts, but our English accent is usually terrible!
Even i, who i work with UK / US people for more than 10 years, i still have the characteristic Greek-English accent (if you 've seen the 'Big fat Greek wedding' movie you know what i mean!).
Should i start asking my random questions over here, or is it better to put them under each section as separate threads?
My questions (in general) could fall under the following categories:
    - Insurance (specially for theft)
    - Theft incidents
(i had a bike stolen years ago but i had good insurance in greece and i got -most of- my money back)
    - General rules of riding in the UK (official and unofficial :D )
    - Service & Maintenance
    - Rides around my area!!

@MickEng i am not 100% into the Tiger, i also like the bonneville, the sprint st and off course the Street Triple...all different styles and types. I think at the very end it will come to:
    - £££££
    - usage (leisure only? daily commute? solo or double???)
    - what my heart will fall on... :D

Hi Apostolos, you'll get better, quicker responses if you post your questions separately.

Welcome Apostolos. Best wishes finding a Triumph to suit you. I have a Tiger 800 as do three mates, and another is planning to a test ride with a view to buying one second hand. It's a great bike.

Hello again! I lost track with the Easter holidays, coming back and starting working again....on top of that the weather down here is great and i envy all of you riding....The other day i saw at least 7 triumph + 2 ducati gathering in portishead (bristol) and i was acting like a little child...my girlfriend had to actually pull me away from the bikes :D :D :D
So as promised i bring some more photos, not from my rides in Greece but from an amazing gathering that took place in Athens: MRCG club (Motorcycle Restoring & Customizing Greece) which counts more than 30.000 members on its FB page (you can visit it and use Google translate if you want) had their 5th gathering (almost annual gatherings) in a beach called Loutsa.
Some photos of what happened can be found:
    http://www.t-motoriders.com/mrcg-5
    and

    and finally:
    https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.1276097495838295&type=3

People came from all over Greece just for one night. it was like a little woodstock!!
Anyway, see you soon in other sections!!

No Elias was one of the guys with the good cameras!
My camera is crap so i didn't take any good photos (i tried to...but i saw the result and i said hell no, lets live the moment now and someone else will take better pics!).
It was a great meeting yes, you could see all generations (from youngsters 15-16 years old) to more 'senior' riders all together having fun! And the bikes....ohhhh the custom bikes were amazing!!!
