    hi all

Newbie here , been a blade rider for many years but sport bike days are over , dodgy shoulders and knees !!! It's a age thing .
Anyway found a nice triple s and was getting it tomorrow but guy let me down and so I'm off to dealers to look at new , question is , is the r nearly 2k more of a bike . Any downsides to the triple or anything I should know

    Thanks in advance

    Welcome to the Triumph family.
I just got myself a 2016 R after riding a 2010 for 2 years. When i pulled away from the dealers I pretty much shat myself with the power delivery. It is such a fantastic bike with more smiles per mile than anything else.
The R has the bling factor, no denying that, but having the fully adjustable rear mono suspension helps you to properly set up the suspension to your weight and riding style, not worth the price difference in its own, that is made up of the carbon front mud guard and other bits.
There is a low mileage latest model R for sale in Birmingham for 9,500. Maybe worth and look if you don't want to pay new prices. They are coming up in Auto Trader if you are quick.
Good luck as the S and R are both bloody fantastic, but the R has the edge.

Heh, i had my eyes on that S but opted to pay more for a new style R with 1,300 on the clock.
There will be more coming along. I have been looking for three weeks and a fair few come and go so you need to have your coinage ready to get in there quick.

Both are great bikes but the better Ohlins on the R is worth the extra :)

Used to go rykers most weekends down to bury hill and back , gave up sports bikes about 18 months ago , thought my riding / track days were behind me , my son mentioned the speed triple so I had a look and I really like the look and the riding position , just need to raise the handlebars a tad maybe . Not rode one yet so 2 test rides this week !

There are some subtle differences with the R too - a few tweaks that lift the overall finish of the bike.

In addition to the Ohlins and carbon front mud guard, there are carbon trims on the side of the tank, a milled handlebar clamp, rear wheel spacer and finisher, and colour-coded belly pan. May not sound much, but it makes a difference and those accessories are about £800 on the options list (excluding the suspension and mud guard).

As i am small i found the bars a bit of a stretch so i fitted 20mm higher bars from Rizoma and its made a huge difference to comfort. 073.JPG

    Red 2016 (66) Speed Triple S
Is it some sort of scam?

I can't find it, is it on ebay? way too cheap there are lots of scammers on ebay who want you to pay in full then they deliver then don't so never do that !!
