Which exhaust ?

I have the TEC on my 2010SE. Very nice.

 

I have just had TORs fitted to my 2012 EFI bonnie by the dealer.
The dealer did the remap - which you will need for any of the above exhausts.
Sound for me is perfect - bit louder on idle and low throttle than stock but has that wonderful "bark" when you gun the throttle or wind-on the throttle whilst riding. Sounds like a British parallel twin should without being obnoxiously loud and droning.
Had Togas on my old T100, they were just straight through pipes with no baffles at all - sounded great when first put on and when rolling off the throttle but became a droning pain in the arse on long runs especially at motorway speeds - so much so that I used to swap back to stock for long journeys.

 

I fitted Brituro to my 09 T100 and am very pleased with them.

Yes you need a re-map but you can do it yourself with TuneECU, free software for your laptop, and it takes about 20mins start to finish.

In answer to your question 1/2hr would have been OK but I didn't fancy it all the way to Germany and back!

 

Bought those myself in January- OMG what a note they have with the baffle out- not tried it in to compare differences. It pops and bangs even though i have a remap.

Quality is second to none for the small price George at TEC asks for!

 

My bike was remapped via the thruimph dealer for arrow previously, so actually assumed it would be ok ?!

The exhaust comes with the baffle removed already so thought it rude to go put it back in

 

I've got a TEC Tracker and am very pleased with it. Shouldn't have to remap if you leave the baffle in, which I have, still much better sound than the stock pipes. I'm still toying with having a custom remap because I've also removed the O2 sensors, AI, and it's got a K&N filter. However, it seems to run perfectly as is, no flat spots, no popping, revs cleanly and plugs are a nice colour, bit rich if anything.

 

Hi all i have the bonneville se 865 efi triumph tors fitted i removed the AI system really easy to do did not remap the bike just fitted this kit and its totally eliminated all popping and backfiring on overrun this is the only kit that completely removes everything with a neat little resistor that plugs in under the tank to fool the ecu no lights on heres the link full instructions are on here arrived in a couple of days from greece via airmail cant fault it

I can confirm that Rudeboys fix does what he says. I have seen and heard his bike and for £19.00 its one of the cheapest fixes for I guess could have cost a mint going to a bike shop.

Well cheers Andy it tidies it up too might go for blanking off the lambda 02 sensors next and a re-map of the ecu runs well enough as it is but i do like playing with stuff

 

So... To bring things back to a sad reality, how does all this fits with the insurrance infamous
"have you modified this bike in any way"
to be understood as
"try anything, we will jack up your price so high you won't believe it"

If I got it correctly, basically, in case of accident, you have to get your bike back home, fit your stock and then send it.
And if you get caught with all these " not for road use" stuff, well, suck it up.

Am I missing something ?
Because Carole Nash might a good insurer, they really never miss a chance to remind me of that....

 

Hi Samuel F I guess you have a valid point there it probably carries an element of risk depends whats been modified my tors pipes do not have any form of stamp saying not for road use and the AIS system is basically leaning the mixture off emissions control all a grey area when down to the insurance I figure interesting though I would be interested to know the real legal angle
