Picked up the Kwak today :)

It runs but sounds like there's a knocking when trying to idle!

But aside from that she's pretty much ready to go!!

All for the princely sum of £350 lol

Lol that means nowt to me! Lol

I think the air box has been removed as well, so might not be working as well.

The carbs have already been cleaned :(

Lol she does love the bike, it's been named already :)

We are looking at the week before Easter for the big license upgrade!

Yes the knocking stops when you rev it. When you first start it with the choke on it sounds fine at 4K revs, but then as you slowly knock the choke off you can hear it knocking!

No receipt, but to be honest he was honest about the bike so I've no reason to believe otherwise. They weren't balanced, just cleaned.

Want to get it mot'd asap now lol

Sounds like the carbs need balancing mate she'll sound like a bag of bolts if they're out at tick over but run strong and quiet at half/full throttle:cool:

They can be noisey on tick over especially if the carbs need balancing but it will just make it a bit better and not cure it.
The problem is that they have a primary chain not gears so there is a certain amount of slack in the transmission.

I took it off to see the cam chain and see how tight it was. Never found the tensioner though!

I did find that the ht leads seem to be very corroded so going to replace those and the coils as they're specific units.

Lol, well it was a learning curve!

I'm going to do the coils and ht leads as they are in poor order.

    And balance the carbs.

It needs an air box as well as some plonker put some cheap k&n fakes on as well!!

I'm hoping so! But it was fun stripping it down today :) even swmbo took an interest and joined in :)

It's very spongy on the front end too so think it may need fork oil doing :( lol

If someone has removed the airbox in the passed and replaced it with k&n filters, there is every chance your bike is running ultra lean and this could give you the symptoms you are currently experiencing.

There's nothing wrong with removing the airbox so long as the carbs are re-jetted accordingly, to offset the increase in air coming into the motor.
