Washed and checked over after my trip to Edinburgh. Then checked for M O T and new front tyre tomorrow, Im going to have to wear the tyre over my head for 15 miles

 

had a run through to Glasgow today, my mate was getting a jacket and trousers from J&S,decided to take the long way home up loch lomond and down loch earn..road was quiet but it started raining half way up loch lomond so we stopped off at Ardlui Hotel (top of the loch) for something to eat



By the time we got to Crianlarich the roads were dry, so happy days

Took the car for its first service this morning at a main dealer and got 60p change from £190. Is that a decent price for a main dealer service (SsangYong Tivoli SE 1.6 petrol)? Seemed reasonable to me - I normally use independents as a rule but as it was new (and somewhat rare as yet) it seemed the safest bet to use the dealer.
Nice sunny day so after a spot of lunch, out came the bike. Well, I felt the need to check that the new oil and filter were oiling and filtering properly and not leaking anywhere. Also the new coolant needed to be put through its paces after a winter of doing nowt. All seemed well. Then there was the question of the new (ex early Trophy - thanks Matt!) bars that I recently fitted - would they relieve the pressure on my spine? YES!!!! RESULT!! Now I just need a new neck and shoulders (reconditioned will do!), although I feel that with a bit more time they will not be a problem - just like finding muscles you didn't know you had when taking up exercise after a long lay off.
Lovely warm sunny day for a quick jaunt around the block Goole>Eastoft>Crowle>Thorne>Rawcliffe>Goole, around 35 miles or so with a good selection of straight and twiddly bits.
IT FELT SO GOOD TO BE OUT IN THE SUN ON THE BIKE AGAIN!!
Stopped off at one of the marinas in Goole to take a celebratory piccie or two. Happy days!



Incidentally, we toyed with the idea of buying the narrowboat (Amy) in the background to live on after I first became ill, but decided to see how things worked out before selling up. Still a possibility though, albeit with a different boat - who knows?

it's a busy place at the weekends what with the caravan park and the marina,does great food too i usually stop there or the 300 year old Drovers Inn just a couple of miles up the road

 

Yeah thats also where you cross the Loch to follow the West Highland Way
