I'm sitting on the ferry going back to Paddyland . I'm the only English (woman );)on here. Every time Scotland get a try (which wasnt very often)the boat erupts. When England get a try I do. It's so funny . Great crac

:mad:Read the caption. This is why Scottish fans will always support whoever is playing against England.
We don't hate you, we hate the media. :mad:Unfortunately, it looks the same. :(

I'm sorry, should it have read " Didn't quite win his 5 tests v England but as we don't approve of competition as it is prejudicial to the non sporty types we'll say he tried very hard didnt he?" Next you'll be saying the media lie, heaven forbid!!:p

So that caption is acceptable ? So under every England player the caption should read "Member of a Football team that has gone to every world cup final since 1970 and lost them all". Should flash up next week Clive Woodward – lost every Lions tour test as player and coach.

I think it is only decent to show a bit of respect to anybody that plays for and captains of their national side.

Just because it's not the England, doesn't deserve that !!! Disgraceful behaviour again, and you wonder why we want to be independant from rUK ???? No other nations media (which last time I checked, ITV was supposed to represent all UK wide) would insult their national team captain like that

Sadly it's just not in sport this happens.
After the referendum from the second Cameron announced EVEL anti Scottish Press coverage increased and has continued.
Inflamed by politicians both of the Labour and Conservative parties.
As to Nicola being tunnel visioned , she's the leader of the SNP independance is always going to be on her mind !
Brexit well like the Vow made to Scotland the promises made to the UK on how the money saved from being paid to the EU was lies as well.
All these are factors in why Scots won't support an English team.
I won't even support Team GB in the olympics. I would rather it was the individual countries of the UK.

Sorry Mr O I was trying to lighten it up with the way schools in England tried to make sports non competitive recently, I am fully with you with that caption it does not show respect and I am the first to show respect to any rugby player no matter what country or level, especially a sevens player as he was, gentle banter aside, of course, I take more than I give. I have filmed an interveiw and games involving Greig Laidlaw and not only is he one of the worlds best scrum halves he's a decent bloke too. I have worked with ITV sports, not a lot, and I am afraid to say there are quite a few nationalities working in there including Scots , so I'm surprised it got through. Of Course there are only 1 or 2 people with the power to put this editorial content together so you can't blame everyone. ITV is still quite new to international rugby, having won the rights to the world cup, its being run by a lot of the football crowd mainly and the way the business is going there are a lot of staff who reach lofty heights with not many years of experience in TV let alone rugby, again accountants have a lot to answer for there. With TV's infatuation with graphics and captions nowadays something has to be put up no matter what but they are not always thought about properly. I can see the probable conversation now:
Editor/producer " Who is this guy?"
" He Captained the Scottish Rugby Team in 5 games against England!"
" Did Scotland beat England while he was Captain?"
    " No"
    " Oh OK"
As for the Football team (English I presume) I have no interest in the over paid ladyboys ( no disrespect to ladyboys intended) and would put forward a motion that SamC designs a t-shirt with said fact on it and they should be forced to wear it until they win one, Better make it of durable material it might have to last a while.
